Reading the Scope Note Before You Pin a Farflung Neighbour

Chaozi

On the independent Farflung edition at farflunggame.fun, each Daily clue carries a scope note as well as the geography condition. The pin that looks “obvious” is often wrong if the note excludes overseas territories or limits the answer to land borders.

What the how-to-play page emphasises

According to the how to play guide:

  • Several countries can be correct for one clue; rarity decides kilometres (Common 40 → Farflung 100).
  • Selecting a country on the map is reversible; Drop pin is final.
  • A wrong pin, a skip, or a timeout with no saved candidate earns zero.

Practise with a neighbour topic

The countries bordering Germany page is a useful warm-up: it states the land-border scope before you open Unlimited or Wander. Use it to rehearse reading the scope first, then hunting a rarer neighbour.

After the Daily five

When the five Daily clues are done, Unlimited starts another scored game immediately; Wander keeps the atlas untimed.
