Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that his relationship with Elon Musk is over, following a public fallout. Trump criticized Musk for being "disrespectful to the office of the president" after Musk condemned Trump’s key tax and spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” Musk had previously served briefly as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) and contributed heavily to Trump's campaign.

Tensions escalated when Musk accused Trump of being linked to Jeffrey Epstein, though the post was later deleted and denied by Epstein’s lawyer. Trump retaliated by threatening to cut Musk’s federal contracts and criticized Musk on Truth Social. Despite Musk’s past donations of $250 million, Trump warned of “serious consequences” if Musk supports Democrats in future elections.
