Here the react router history is extremely useful . Let's quickly build back and next functionality in our react app using react router history . Let's first start with our traditional import statements . Observe that I am importing useHistory hook from react-router-dom library .
The majority of browsers currently expose a history object on the DOM's Window object, which is used to access the browser's session history and navigate foward and backwards using the history .back() and history .forward() methods (which also function like the back and forward buttons in the browser), and many other methods such as go() and pushState() .

React Router is the core package for the router . React Router DOM contains DOM bindings and gives you access to React Router by default . In other words, you don't need to use React Router and React Router DOM together . If you find yourself using both, it's OK to get rid of React Router since you already have it installed as a dependency within React Router DOM .
However, what you may not know is that whenever we use any of the above listed routers , React creates a history object for us to use as well and passes that object within the default props . For example, assume no props have been passed to the Login component .
