Defining Your Own Personality
Your personality defines what kind of person you are. Why do you think and do the things you do? There are infinite different kinds of personality, and yours is totally unique and something only you can decide and discover for yourself.
What are the 5 examples of personality? Some say that there are 5 major personality types: extroversion (being outgoing), openness (being accepting), agreeableness (being friendly), conscientiousness (being kind), and neuroticism (being full of concern). But these are just 5 possibilities from a whole universe of possibilities!
What do I say about my personality?
The best way to understand your own personality is to ask other people how they see you. It’s not always easy to see yourself from the inside, but other people tend to have their own ideas of who you are. Taking this quiz is a great first step!
But ultimately, your personality is yours to decide. You can be virtually anyone you want, but who are you? To find out ask yourself some of these questions:
- Am I a social person, or do I prefer to be alone? Both?
- Am I a creative person, or do I tend to think about the way things actually are?
- Am I positive, or more cautious and realistic?
- Am I open and vulnerable? Or mysterious and closed-off?
What words best describe my personality?
That’s up to you! Try thinking of adjectives that might describe you if you were a character in a book. Here are lots of personality descriptors to get you started:
Positive:
- Adventurous
- Disciplined
- Respectful
- Reliable
- Motivated
- Open-minded
- Easygoing
- Patient
- Genuine
- Confident
- Passionate
- Curious
Other:
- Nervous
- Rowdy
- Indecisive
- Stubborn
- Dramatic
- Vain
- Perfectionist
- Flaky
- Morbid
How can I have a better personality?
The best way to develop your personality is to ask questions. Ask about everything! The more you learn, the more your worldview evolves and shifts. Ask people questions about themselves, like where they’re from, what their childhood was like, and what they believe. Ask questions about the world, like why leaves change color, why the government is organized the way it is, or why music makes people dance.
Then (and this is key), ask yourself what you think about it. That’s where your personality comes from: your reaction to the world around you. The more questions you ask about anything and everything, and the more questions you ask about yourself, the more you’ll learn about the person you are, and the more well-rounded and interesting you’ll become.
