Rashida Jones Advocates for Mental Health Awareness in New Campaign

Los Angeles, CA – October 10, 2023 – Actress, writer, and producer Rashida Jones is using her platform to champion mental health awareness in a powerful new campaign launched in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

The Parks and Recreation and The Office star announced the initiative on World Mental Health Day, emphasizing the importance of destigmatizing mental health struggles, particularly in marginalized communities.

'Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet so many people suffer in silence because of shame or lack of resources,' Jones said in a statement. 'I want to help change that narrative.'

The campaign, titled You Are Not Alone, features personal testimonials from individuals who have faced mental health challenges, along with resources for therapy, crisis hotlines, and community support programs. Jones, who has been open about her own experiences with anxiety, hopes the project will encourage more people to seek help.

In addition to the awareness campaign, Jones is working with legislators to advocate for better mental health funding in underserved areas. 'Access to care shouldn’t be a privilege,' she said. 'Everyone deserves support.'
