Rajab, The Month of Allah

“Thanks be to Allah ﷻ that the three months are approaching in a few days.
They start on Saturday insha’Allah which is also the first of Rajab.
Rajab is a holy month, it’s the month of Allah ﷻ.
It is both the beginning of the three months and one of the Sacred Months (al-Ashhur al-Hurum), the respectable months in the sight of Allah ﷻ.
The three months are: Rajab, Shaʻban and Ramadan.
Then there are the Sacred Months (al- Ashhur al-Hurum) which are Rajab, Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram.
This month is a holy month.
In the past when the three months started, people would increase worship and respect these months.
They would be careful not to commit sins.
Those who were addicted to sinning would stop what they were doing for the honour of these three months.
They would say to themselves: “Let’s be patient for these three months and then we’ll continue afterwards.”
For the honour of their respect for these months, Allah ﷻ would make it a means for them to be guided.
Those who respect what Allah ﷻ respects [of which are the three months], Allah ﷻ will also respect them and help them.
What they do would be acceptable. Allah ﷻ states in the Holy Quran:
‘َش َعا ِّئ َر َاللِّّ فَإِّنَ َها ِّمن تَق َوى القُلُو ِّب َو َمن يُ َع ِّظم ’, ‘
And whoever honours the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.’ (Qur’ān 22:32).
To respect and honour time, months, places and people. What we mean by people is those honoured people whom Allah ﷻ has honoured.
Beginning with our Holy Prophet ﷺ, then the Prophets, the Companions, the Saints (Awliya) and the True Scholars.
And since they are honoured people whom Allah ﷻ has honoured, if we honour them, Allah ﷻ would give us huge rewards and He would strengthen our faith.
May it be Mubarak (blessed) insha’Allah. There are certain duties in Rajab that I will mention later insha’Allah, may Allah ﷻ make us reach it.
May Allah ﷻ make us reach the holy days.”
