Raise Your Fist and Yell is the tenth solo studio album by American rock musician Alice Cooper , released on September 5, 1987, by MCA Records . It features the track “Prince of Darkness”, which is featured very briefly in the John Carpenter film of the same name , in which Cooper has a cameo as a murderous vagrant. The song can be heard on the Walkman of one of his victims. A music video was made for the song " Freedom ", which also became the album's sole single. Raise Your Fist and Yell is the only Alice Cooper album to feature Ken K. Mary on drums and the second and last to feature Kip Winger on bass.
The album continues the slasher film trend created by Cooper’s previous album Constrictor . The track “Lock Me Up” features a guest appearance from Robert Englund , who portrayed Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street series.
The album cover for Raise Your Fist and Yell was painted by artist Jim Warren .
The infamous tour for the album, dubbed “Live in the Flesh,” was notorious in Europe in 1988 for its graphic violence and theatricality. The show included many of Cooper’s old favourites, such as the gallows (for the first time since 1972), but offered new theatrics such as impaling a person with a bike (this was also seen in John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness , used by Cooper in a cameo role as a vagrant killing one of the characters). Most of the tour's more violent acts were heavily inspired by the horror movies of the time, by including graphic onstage deaths and large amounts of stage blood. Cooper has been said to be a big fan of these movies.
The show was seen to be so violent that the German government forced Cooper to remove some of the more graphic parts of the show. A (blind) Member of Parliament in the UK, David Blunkett , appealed to have the show banned altogether from the country, but his attempt was unsuccessful.
Five songs from Raise Your Fist and Yell were played by Cooper during the album’s supporting tour: "Freedom", "Prince of Darkness", "Chop Chop Chop", "Gail" and "Roses on White Lace". [5] Until “Roses on White Lace” [6] was revived as a regular part of setlists for the 2019 “Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back” tour, nothing from Raise Your Fist and Yell was ever performed by Cooper subsequent to the close of the “Live in the Flesh” tour.
All tracks are written by Alice Cooper and Kane Roberts except where noted.
"I don't want you scums let me get away from here I don't want to be a cogwheel in your gear I'm not a marionette in your boring puppet show So let me go! " Come on kids unite And let us feed the flames of rage Together we are strong So let's tear up this golden cage We shall overcome Repression and their strangling strings The shackles have to fall And we will be metallian kings Raise your fist Raise your fist Raise your fist high Raise your fist Raise your fist Raise your fist high Come on kids unite And let us feed the flames of rage Together we are strong So let's tear up this golden cage We shall overcome Repression and their strangling strings The shackles have to fall And we will be metallian kings
Raise your fist Raise your fist Raise your fist high Raise your fist Raise your fist Raise your fist high

The Metal Queen Doro Kick's Ass!The Rock Goddess proves again how great of a metal icon she is on Raise Your Fist.I've been a fan of Doro since the Warlock days and she will still blow your mind on this effort with the sweet voice of a Rock N' Roll angel and how she puts her heart&soul into every song. This cd is filled with all the headbanging metal and soulful ballads that will have your senses tingling with metal pleasure. The metal ride starts off with Raise Your Fist In The Air which is one of her best rock songs since All We Are.Then you get the awesome metal tracks like Rock Till Death,Freiheit(Human Rights), Take No Prisoner,Grab The Bull(Last Man Standing),Little Headbanger,Revenge, and Victory. The ballads are some of her best ever that include It Still Hurts(Feat.Lemmy),Free My Heart, and Engel. The last song before the bonus tracks is Hero, which is a cool tribute song to the Icon and Legend Ronnie James Dio.Dio was an influence and hero to all of us in the world of metal music,so big time props to Doro for giving us a kick ass rock song to remember all the hero's in a person's life. You also get the english version of Sealed In Blood(Human Rights),Strong and Proud as well that are two more metal satisfaction rides musically. This is one of Doro's best cd's that will please your ears and leave in a state of metal bliss.Bottom line Raise Your Fist is a 10 out of 10 metal masterpiece from Doro that all fans will love.I highly recommend Raise Your Fist to all Doro fans out there.Doro Rocks!!!
I am a new fan of Doro but a long time Rock, Metal fan and musician. I equate her to a German Lita Ford type in that this is solid hard rock from start to finish. Truly great tunes especially for fans of the 80's "classic" hard rock metal days. She has a great voice; a solid sound and I'll be expanding my collection soon.
I was very happy to learn that Doro Pesch had continued making music after Warlock back in the day. She is very much true to form with her own brand of metal and it truly is great to hear!
Case was cracked in half. CD was undamaged and ROCKS.
i dont think it said anything, but when i put it in the car, it said "Japanese Import", which gave me a few extra tracks. (non-u.s. versions are always the best.) love the bonus tracks, and the cd in general is classic Doro. this cd is "solid". i would say this is a little better than your average Doro cd. love it when artists can approach 3 decades and still not "sell out", AND sound better than ever. 'free my heart' is a very powerful, moving, soul-crushing epic. and i had been listening to DIO for about a month before i got this, and when hearing 'Hero' for the first time i just about "lost it". RIP-RJD. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The first time i've heard this woman sing i was a little skeptik but then i saw her face and just fell flat on the floor she is so beautiful i wanna have every CD she have done.
Doro has delivered another winner. It's as good as the last one, 'Fear No Evil'. I knew the title track, 'Raise Your Fist In The Air' was a winner when I listened to the samples. It sticks in your head. 'Take No Prisoner', 'Grab the Bull', 'Revenge' and 'Victory' are great, there are some ballads in there and German numbers. Doro's values (Human Rights) and fighting spirit come through. Definitely buy this, Doro fans.
This album is the same as the Japanese CD except it does not have the German version of Raise your FIst as the last Track. This album is for Fans of Doro or the genre. Die Hard Fans will likely opt for the Japan one. I bought Both cause I have listened to Doro from when she was in Warlock. All Hail the Metal Queen Fur Immur!

Missing Video On My Copy But Otherwise a Great 2 Disc Edition
This is a great two disc set. On mine, the disc titled Powerful Personal Favorites has listed a track 10, "Bonus Video, Behind The Scenes - Recording Raise Your Fist". I put the disc in my computer and I have only 9 .cda files, no video file. I don't know if this is normal and the text on the back of the case and in the book is a misprint or if I just have a defective copy. Other than this, you get 2 really good discs of music with awesome art and nice booklets with many very good photos to see inside. The cover you see of the Raise Your Fist disc is an insert, not the actual booklet cover. The booklet is the regular version art but the insert on top of it can be flipped around to see another beautiful photo of Doro. You get a cardboard sleeve that has the painting art you see here on it, which holds the 2 jewel cases.

The one and only
As a fan of DORO and the band I already owned Raise Your Fist, but as a fan I had to buy this edition not just to add to my collection, but for the favourites CD a great collection of songs covered by Doro and the band over the years,'Doro never fails to deliver great music, long may she reign as the queen of metal.

Great Doro Album and Lemmy duet
This is a great album. Always had a soft spot for Warlock and Doro. Worth it for the duet with Lemmy alone! Metal!

2012 release, the 17th album from the German vocalist often called the 'Queen of Metal'. When considering the hit potential and evergreen spirit of the songs, there's no doubt that Raise Your Fist will continue her 30 year success story. Take for example the title track of the album that immediately encourages to rock along and bears the potential to replace "All We Are" as Doro's trademark song. And also the energetic speedster "Take No Prisoner" as well as the double bass anthem "Revenge" have a similar impact on your desire for head banging. The incredible dynamism, compositional diversity and the richness of detail make Raise Your Fist an album that can even satisfy the demands of the most demanding connoisseurs of music.
