David Lindsay-Abaire (screenplay) (based on his play: "Rabbit Hole")
According to Aaron Eckhart , he attended a support group meeting for parents who had lost a child - in character. He told his character's story to the group and was consoled by the group's members.
When Rebecca goes to visit her old job at Sotheby's, the same two extras are walking behind her both before she walks in and after she leaves.

Slow and stagy, but also devastating and superbly acted.
Recently I saw Rabbit Hole, a drama that centers on a married couple that includes Becca (Played by Nicole Kidman), and Howie (Played by Aaron Eckhart), who are going through a tough time. It's been eight months since their child, Danny, was unexpectedly killed after he was hit by a car. They also go through tough times with Becca's family, a young boy she begins having conversations with, and a veteran of their support group (Played by Sandra Oh). The film is not always highly ambitious, but it's a slow burning, devastating experience. The film is written by David Lindsay-Abbaire, and based on his stage play. He writes the film with a realistic touch, and words it oh so finely. Themes of emotional hardships, and desire to block out the past are very much so explored within the film. Still, as thoughtful as the writing and direction may be, the film can't help but feel stagy at points, and a tad distracted. Regardless, I recommend seeing it, if only to behold the performances of Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart. Their performances are brimming with heart, and they infuse genuine heartbreak, anger, and joy (What little there is) into their performances. They give us gripping and memorable portrayals of sorrow and regret. Sure, I'm not too fond of a few things, but I still liked Rabbit Hole. I give it *** out of ****

Nat : No, I don't think it does. Not for me, it hasn't - has gone on for eleven years. But it changes though.
Nat : I don't know... the weight of it, I guess. At some point, it becomes bearable. It turns into something that you can crawl out from under and... carry around like a brick in your pocket. And you... you even forget it, for a while. But then you reach in for whatever reason and - there it is. Oh right, that. Which could be aweful - not all the time. It's kinda...
Nat : not that you'd like it exactly, but it's what you've got instead of your son. So, you carry it around. And uh... it doesn't go away. Which is...

My wife and I came here on a date night. Our waitress Emily was great and the food was as well. Would highly recommend the rabbit meatloaf and bison short rib. We will definitely be back sometime!
The chef must have had a bad night. The flavorless $42 Filet was worth $23.50, raw asparagus included.

Shame, shame, shame
We were looking forward to an amazing evening! The ambience is very romantic until you are stuck at a table in a cubby along a hall. This section seemed to be an after thought to have more seating. The service was great, but the food was so terrible we sent back our meals after the first bite, so paid for our wine and appetizers. The brussels were great and the rice balls were bland and tasteless.
I could see going here for a cocktail, but nothing more.
The Rabbit Hole was an amazing experience for my husbands birthday! We enjoyed everything we ordered from the drinks to the appetizer to dinner itself. Being gluten intolerant, I am very careful about where I eat, but our waitress informed me that they had designated fryers and my Chicken Cordon Bleu would be safe! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, unique experience!
It was a fantastic experience, great food and drinks plus a great ambiance.
Mediocre food. Think olive garden but wife as much. Great service.
amazing place. great food and great ambiance and excellent drinks. highly recommend. Loved the vibe!
The atmosphere was amazing! There was an air of excitement throughout the restaurant and the food did not bring that down at all!

All of the entrees sounded amazing, and the ones we ordered were full of flavor and absolutely delicious!!

This is a spot that everyone should visit when in CO Springs.
Delicious food in a fun atmosphere. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meals. The truffle fries and artisan bread were also wonderful!
Fantastic service but the food really let it down. It might have been down to me having high expectations due to other reviews but it was really basic bland and a little cold when served.
Great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Had a fun time!
Absolutely incredible food and cocktails. The rabbit meatloaf was absolutely divine! So rich and delicious. We ate every single bite of all that we ordered!!
It was wonderful ❤️. Food and service was amazing!
Great drinks, great food, great service!
Great location and atmosphere. Food was sub par. My wife had rack of lamb, extremely tough, we had to send it back. My ribeye was very fatty. Mixed drinks off. I have an Old Fashion, way to sweet. Might stop in for a beer and an appetizer, but nothing else.
Great food and drinks. We had the chicken cordon bleu. Service was awesome. We were seated right away. Food was out within 10 minutes of ordering.
14oz steak had way to much fat for a $40 price tag. Flavor was good on most of our items but felt overpriced. Service was great though.
Food and drinks were wonderful. Great atmosphere and service.
I was hesitant to go out due to many food sensitivities and allergies. Our server and the kitchen staff made sure I was able to have an amazing meal that wouldn’t effect me negatively. I wish I could remember our server’s name. She was phenomenal! Not once did she make me feel like I was being difficult. She turkey went above and beyond to make sure I could eat everything I was served! Thank you to everyone for a wonderful experience!
This was our first time being here as we are from out of state. Everything was great - from the ambiance, to the service, & of course the food. They put us in the nice area to the right of the host stand. It definitely made us feel special & was more then we expected. The drinks are were tasty & strong. We got the T party & the white rabbit. We skipped apps & went right into entrees, both got the bison short rib & a side of shrimp. The short rib was on the bone but it was very tender. It did need a little bit of more salt but I rather have it have less & have us salt it then it being overly salty. Finished with the chocolate moose. You could tell presentation is important here & the server was lovely. Thank you for the great experience while being in Colorado!
We were accommodated with a private booth post nuptials, and the food was exquisite! Sydney was great
Cozy on a rainy night. Great service, diverse menu, amazing cocktails.
The food was good, however, my party (of three) was asked to leave and told that parties under four people are not allowed to stay longer than an hour and a half, although we were about to actually order more food we were pushed out the door and rushed away from our table. Horrible policy, bad customer service, will not be returning for that reason and that reason alone.
The atmosphere and vibe is amazing. The food on the other hand was terrible. My party of three all thought the same. For what it is, the food is way overpriced. I would rather pay more money and have a great meal, than to pay what was paid and have a terrible meal. It’s just a shame, because this place has the capability to really shine.
They did away with the whole reason I showed up, the pork belly. Lost many starts for that one. Bummer…
The food was delightful, the Alice theme was spot on, the drink me drink was fabulous, and we could not get enough of the carrot cake! Highly recommend!!
The Rabbit Hole has it all! The food was amazing and I’ll be thinking about the farro curry for a long time. The drinks are fun and different and the space is truly one of a kind. A must visit in Colorado Springs!
Very good food and service! Really neat set up. A little noisy, but it’s worth trying out.
Very nice food was great. Felt rushed. I know we were a party of two but I felt like everyone was in a hurry. Brought our check with our dessert. Really?! Didn’t ask us anything but did answer our questions. It good a one time trip. Very nice decor.
Took my wife here for her 21st Birthday. We both had a great time, the food and drinks were fantastic. Honestly the best steak I’ve ever had.
Great! The food was awesome very delicious, and the services was really really good!! Definitely is a must to go back
Try the moon pie, it's the best dessert anywhere!!
A bit disappointed. The appeal to this place is definitely the atmosphere.. We were sat in a hallway that smelled of mildew along with the bathrooms. We felt pushed off to the side by our seating placement being in that hallway. You’re completely cut off to the rest of the restaurant in that spot. Food was just okay. We got the kimchi, bison rib, steak and shrimp frites, and carrot cake. The best part was the kimchi and carrot cake hands down. The steak and shrimp was very salty and the bison was bland. It also took a long time in between courses to get our food. Our waitress was very nice but we will both be okay not visiting this restaurant again.
A unique experience, cool ambiance and great cocktails. However, food is overrated (but decent).
We we to the Rabbit Hole for dinner. We hadn’t been since before COVID. Service was great. The cocktails were not as good as they’re other restaurants. The menu is condensed. If you go, count on ordering a steak of some sort.
Used to have GREAT vegan options across all categories. Now there are a handful of apps and only one entree. Those options were great but it's way more limited with a recent change in GM.
The chef had the grill too hot and over charred my steak, mash potatoes were dry and wine list was weak. The rabbit hole is not worth it. Steak was chillies quality and I’m severely disappointed with the kitchen. Our server was great but the restaurant was super loud and crowded. I would not recommend the rabbit hole for food as they have an amateur kitchen staff.
We went for our 4th anniversary and had our own room and everything! Everyone was accommodating and the food was amazing!
Great, Food. Affordable Drinks and great atmosphere.
A bit loud but mostly thanks to one group. Menu is limited.
