REPORTING CRIME
Any crime must be reported, if there was a crime committed on your property, a case must be opened at SAPS.
Who is going to be able to combat crime if no cases are opened?
Regardless of whether the SAPS follow up on the case, as they should,, it's not your responsibility.
Your responsibility as a citizen of South Africa is to open a case. It's your moral duty.
You cannot blame SAPS for their service, or lack thereof, if you're not going to report cases. You can't follow up on anything, if a case has not been opened. How are we supposed to get crime statistics correct in South Africa if people aren't going to register cases?
Reported cases are the crux of fixing crime in an area. The more cases that are reported in a particular area, the more SAPS members are deployed in that area. In other words, if there is too little SAPS manpower in a particular area, it is because people do not report and open cases.
