While no challenge is ever too big for the Fab Five, the upgrading of episode five's Bobby Camp definitely put the hosts to the test. Some grooming and a little life-coaching were able to get the loving father of six on a path to fabulousness. Of course, finding out where Bobby from Queer Eye is now has got to be a burning question for a lot of viewers. The Christian father left an impression on fans and the Fab Five alike.
If one thing was made clear throughout the episode (besides Bobby's unyielding love and devotion to his family ), the hardworking father was stretched a little too thin. With working two jobs, being a member of his church, and raising six children with his wife Vera, Bobby didn't have much time for himself, and that's where the Fab Five came in. Not only did they transform the Camp family's household into a clutter-free zone, they also helped remind Bobby the importance of taking care of himself, in order to be a support for his household.
Design expert Bobby Berk helped Bobby turn his house from shabby to chic, while food aficionado Antoni Porowski showed Bobby how to make a mean chili that can be a hit for his family dinner meals and partygoers. Grooming connoisseur Jonathan Van Ness envisioned a sleek and stylist haircut for Bobby, and even stocked the kids with adorable kit and caboodle sets that'll help them stay put-together too. Fashion expert Tan France hooked Bobby up with a new and improved wardrobe, and culture maven Karamo Brown helped the father of six give his wife the redo reception she truly deserved.
Bobby appears to be laying low from social media these days, but by the looks of his wife's Instagram account, the Georgia resident seems to be putting his style in high gear. In a Feb. 22 post, Bobby smiled happily next to Vera while rocking a coral polo top, proving that the Fab Five's labor wasn't in vain. Van Ness should also be proud to know that Bobby appears to be keeping up with his sleek grooming routine, as his head and facial hair totally look on-point too.
According to BuzzFeed, Van Ness has been keeping in touch with family of eight , as of February, and announced that the Camps had an update with their living quarters. The hairstylist told BuzzFeed,
Those obsessing over the show already know what to expect from the Fab Five by now — excellent life hacks and catchy one-liners — but this time around, the family man's emotional parting words to the Fab Five stole the show. It's no secret that some Christians have had a strained relationship with the LGBT community for centuries, and in the show, Berk chatted with Bobby about his views on the subject. Berk revealed in the episode that he, himself, didn't have the best relationship with the Christian church, and seeing as Bobby, a devout Christian, invited a team of gay life-stylists into his home openly, Berk wanted to get a handle on his actual beliefs.
The kind-hearted family man let Berk know where he stood. In the show's emotional closing, Bobby shared the same message to the rest of the team. He said,
Needless to say, Bobby's Queer Eye episode not only touched hearts , but could have very well helped to change a lot of hearts too. And as long as the father of six continues to approach life with the same openness he had with the Queer Eye experience, he'll be able to tackle any obstacle headed his way.

Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” now in its fifth season, has the Fab Five busier than ever helping people make a fresh start. Part of these transformations, of course, involve renovating and redecorating their clients’ homes—courtesy of interior designer Bobby Berk .
In each episode, Berk turns disorganized, outdated spaces (primarily in Philadelphia) into chic show-stoppers where people are proud to live. What’s more, his upgrades are tend to be fairly easy to do and affordable, providing plenty of decor ideas for us all.
Need some fabulous inspiration for your next home improvement project? Read on to find out some of Berk’s best home decor moves from Season 5, which could amp up your own abode this summer.
In Season 5’s season premiere, “Preaching Out Loud,” the Fab Five help Pastor Noah fix up his temporary living space within the church where he works.
While his space is simply a storage area when the team first sees the place, Berk is able to transform this church’s spare room into Noah’s personal sanctuary.
One particularly great organization feature Berk brings into play is a large bookshelf that separates Noah’s desk from his sleeping area.
The ample storage will help Noah keep his room tidy, and in addition, the shelf has pass-through holes that help keep the space feeling open, while still providing Noah with the illusion of a separate office.
This shelf is a great way to add a sense of separation to any large room, while also preventing it from feeling closed off. It could work to carve out work and sleep areas, kitchen, and dining areas, and so much more—a stylish way to keep things organized but still open.
In the episode “DJ’s on Repeat,” Berk and the rest of the crew help Ryan make his home feel a little more grown-up.
Ryan splits his time working as a property manager by day, and a DJ by night. He’s stuck between the youthful party life he’s always loved and the professional future he’s hoping for. And, as Berk learns, Ryan’s home also seems to be stuck between these two worlds.
While Ryan does have a dedicated office space, the room is disorganized and cluttered. It doesn’t even look like an office space, except that it has a small desk in the corner.
Berk revamps the area by cleaning up the room, repainting the walls a relaxed blue, and making the room’s centerpiece a large desk. The new layout and furniture makes the space feel more like a professional setting, making it the perfect place for Ryan to focus on his work.

In “Silver Lining Sweeney,” Jennifer steals the Fab Five’s hearts with her story of resilience. This supermom is dedicated to taking care of her three daughters and her husband, who has Lou Gehrig’s disease.
She tells the team that her front yard is important to her because she and her husband can no longer go out to bars, due to his declining health, so the couple often socialize with friends in this outdoor space.
At first, the space is plain and looks a little unloved. So, Berk freshens it up with some simple cosmetic changes.
He replaces the shabby table and chairs with some new furniture, paints the black porch stair railing white, upgrades the house with a new front door, and even adds homey features like an outdoor rug and a planter box.
These upgrades may not take a lot of time or effort, but they make a big difference to the home. It looks as if Jennifer and her husband now have an even more fabulous place to invite friends over!
In the episode “Paging Dr. Yi,” the crew meets Lilly , who’s pulling double duty as both a pediatric doctor and a mom. To top it all off, she and her family have just moved.
However, with her busy schedule, Lilly hasn’t been able to settle into her new home. This is hard because, growing up, she admits she was never allowed to decorate the walls of her room, so she always felt halfway moved in.
So, Berk goes all out when it comes to the wall decor. He gives Lilly’s new living room a stunning green accent wall, does a wood treatment on one of her bedroom walls, and even gives her daughter’s room a beautiful wallpaper accent.
These design choices are perfect for this home, because the feature walls make each room feel unique and special. Simply with some wallpaper and a simple coat of paint, Berk proves that a new house can quickly feel like home.
When the Fab Five meet Nate on the episode “Body Rock or Bust,” Berk knows right away that he has a lot of work to do.
Nate owns a gym and lives in a back room. While this might make his commute easy, the living space is small, so the area feels cluttered.
So Berk gives Nate’s apartment a whole new look, transforming the messy kitchen into a stylish cooking space.
While the kitchen seemed tiny before, the new cabinetry makes the same space feel sleek.
The secret? Berk explains that a small space like this calls for a trick of the eye: vertical lines to bring the eye up.
He shows that this can be accomplished by hiding drawers behind cabinets.
The drawers keep things organized within, but out of sight, behind the tall cabinet doors. This ultimately makes the space feel much less cluttered.

Some of the most authentic experiences can be the most challenging.
It's not all rainbows and avocados on the Queer Eye set. In a revealing interview with Australian showbiz outlet Gold Derby , Bobby Berk and Tan France booted up their laptops for a video chat about all things Queer Eye . What they let slip was a lot about how tough it actually is to film the show.
For anyone unfamiliar with their roles, Bobby is the interior designer and Tan is the stylist on Netflix's wildly popular Queer Eye reboot. Absent from this particular interview were their co-hosts Karamo Brown (culture expert), Jonathan van Ness (grooming expert), and Antoni Porowski (culinary expert).
Antoni might have been busy working on his groundbreaking rom-com , and JVN seemed occupied with posting anti-racist TikToks , but Bobby and Tan had more than enough to say on behalf of the Fab Five. Read on to learn the truth about their Queer Eye struggles.
"It takes a huge emotional toll on the five of us," Bobby dished to Gold Derby. "It’s not just our hero that is opening up their hearts and minds and lives to us, we are to them too."
"I don’t think there’s many shows out there where the host of the show is sometimes getting a makeover ourselves, emotionally," he added. As the men fairly often break down in tears on the show, it's easy to believe they're being put through the emotional wringer just like their contestants.
The first time Queer Eye was shown to the world, it wasn't the same as it is today. It was called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and involved five different dudes performing speedy, single-day makeovers on schlumpy bachelors.
Bobby told Gold Derby that "in its time, it was a perfect show. It was exactly what the world needed." For the next generation, however, the current Fab Five are made to go a little deeper with each makeover, spending a full week with each hero and helping them grapple with more serious life and career issues.
Dealing with contestants who have been homeless, estranged from their parents, widowed, and extremely unlucky in life is the norm for Queer Eye this time around. While the original hosts got to focus on giving contestants a fresh new look and bachelor pad, Bobby & Co. have the more demanding task of truly uplifting their contestants from the inside out. It's a lot to ask!
Tan was eager to admit how much pressure he and his 'mates' are under to deliver perfection on Queer Eye .
"There's so much pressure! I don't think people understand how much pressure there is," he said on the Gold Derby video call. "It's not just that hero we have to impress, it's the tens of millions of people who are watching. If that hero appears to be unhappy, that then allows the audience to say 'well maybe there is a problem with something they've done.'"
From debating what they need to say to decide what they need to wear, the producers of this generation's Queer Eye have butted heads with the Fab Five more than once.
Tan revealed in the video chat that each of the hosts met with the Queer Eye producers near the start of filming Season 1 for some hard talks about what the show could be.
"We really fought," he said. "I'll be really honest, I've gotten really comfortable saying 'I don't care that it's for TV, they won't be comfortable doing that."
Bobby agreed that the producers' vision sometimes conflicted with his own.
"Our very first day of filming we walked in and we met Tom, and you know, producers were like 'alright go in and find everything wrong with the apartment, and Tan, pick apart his clothes' and this and that," he revealed. "We got in and we saw this broken man and we were all just like, 'we can't be mean to him!'"
"It just wouldn’t have been right, especially in this day and age, to tear people apart," added Tan. He went on to explain that producers had a different vision for his fashion makeovers as well.
"After three episodes, the producers said ‘we want you to go bold and wild...think of a bright pink suit,’ and I was like ‘I am not your guy then'...thankfully all of us are very strong-willed. We don’t back down easy."
"There have been those moments when we do the reveal and it's not always positive, you know?" Bobby told Gold Derby. "Sometimes the reaction is negative. Luckily within an hour or so of letting it soak it they usually come around, but it's happened!"
He believes the main reason people are sometimes disappointed with their new spaces is that they didn't want so many of their belongings to be thrown away or moved. In his terms, the team has "dealt with heroes who I would say are borderline clinically a hoarder."
Since limited time doesn't allow for in-depth therapy for hoarding, he says they sometimes just have to accept that his team did the best they could and move on - and try not to react badly when his design work is disrespected.
Queer Eye is known for diving deep into emotional, heart-to-heart conversations with its heroes, and Bobby and Tan say that none of that is ever faked.
Bobby says they aren't rehearsed, staged, or manufactured in any way, even if something technical goes wrong and the team loses a bit of audio that would be useful to include on the show.
Hours of serious, deep, and sometimes dark conversations about life, death, and everything in between make this actually a really draining job for these experts - but they keep pulling through! As JVN would say, can you believe?
