About once or times a week on my way to work, I sit and have a listen to his talk. I must say they're having a dramatic effect on my life. They have been absolutely wonderful
Just over a week ago, a submissive paid for me to fly first class to NY and see Hamilton. This is a big deal because I've grown up in theatre my entire life, and a minority actress. For those of you who don't know, the play is the story of Alexander Hamilton done by an all minority cast. But the show has been sold out for he next two years. I found out yesterday, he's shipping me off to see it in Chicago on the 30th of this month as well. First class and five star hotels.
Mediatate daily. I keep a Shadow Journal. I'm big into shadow work. It also contains my dreams. Ritual of the Pheonix daily. And during meditation I have a ton of little rituals: LBRP, MPR, Chakra work, etc...)
I'm already a big Dr. Strange fan. I was ready to accept pretty much whatever they gave me. I was blown away instead by very well thought out moments of occult and magickal theory. Most of which I'm sure most of you have been exposed to or herd before.
For me, it wasn't about good vs evil. It was about the spiritual journey of the soul and sorting these things out for oneself. That there is a little evil in good and good in evil. You know. The ol yin and yang. The nature of the universe. I love tales about spiritual journies where the character much seek his/herself first, losing everything before seeking their mission in the world. I even walked away with a little knowledge for myself. The line about personal demons really stuck out to me. I haven't stopped contemplating it since.
I'm glad people are really connecting to the movies the way I did with the comics and cartoon film versions of him. Can't wait for a DVD. It'll be on repeat forever in my house. Sad the Ancient One was a missed opportunity for an Asian actor.
I've eases my stress. I enjoy my time out with friends and alone. I've actively started drinking more water, working out, and cleaning up my finances. I've rid my mind of social anxiety.
I still have a ways to go, but I sure hope I never go back or fall by the wayside ever again.
Most of all, I listen. I still have a nasty habit of being self centered Ina conversation but I'm more aware, and I do try to listen a lot more.
