Hello Colleagues. Virtuozzo is looking for Python Developer. The vacancy is opened in Performance Team.

Virtuozzo is a server virtualization solution for Enterprises and Hosting providers, which provides the possibility to distribute physical resources among virtual environments (machines and containers). The main goal of Performance team in Virtuozzo is to improve productivity of virtual environments and distributed storage including high density conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

        • Improving current implementation of memory management daemon

        • Developing new balloon policy for memory management daemon

        • Enhancing performance and density of virtual environments in comparison with competitive products (stock KVM, ESXi, Hyper-V, Xen)

        • Developing new benchmarks and related pieces of the infrastructure including modules for competitive products

        • Performance evaluations, automated regression testing, benchmark results processing, comparisons with competitive products

        • Investigating performance degradations, bugs and benchmark failures

        • Finding bottlenecks and ways for optimization in benchmarks, memory management daemon and other product components

        • Writing benchmarking guides and whitepapers about performance regression testing

        • Participating in professional conferences (KVM Forum, FOSDEM, other Linux Foundation events.

Requirements:

        • Python knowledge and programming experience 3+ years

        • Linux OS administration experience (deployment, installing/configuring services, network, RAID, apache, mysql, etc.)

        • Base skills in virtual machines or containers management

        • Understanding of modern OS principles: processes scheduling, inter-process communication, networking, disk subsystem

        • Understanding of modern hardware subsystems: CPU, disk subsystem, memory management         

Language skills:

English – Intermediate or higher
