What is the point of portraying your life as what it is not? Social media today is a cesspool of opinions where everyone seems to count but no one actually does. There’s a lot of pressure to keep up with the Joneses and show up the good times. There is a common saying that nobody shows off their bad times on Social Media.
Those you are deceiving that your life is so cool also are deceiving you that their lives are perfect. Eventually, these facades come crashing down and you will be forced to take a hard look at your real face. If you won’t like what you will see when that day comes, today is a great day to do a rethink.
I’ve found that no matter how much you want to go at it, the shortest distance between two points is most usually a straight line. If you want to pass, read. If you want to make money, work for it. If you love someone, let them know. We live in a world that makes complications cool.
In the midst of the woke culture, meme culture, fake deep, cancelling and social media activism, the simple things get lost and life gets unnecessarily hard. Do the needful, you have to be ordinary before you can put in the extra to become extraordinary.
This was inspired by a piece I read by Joshua Press, 20 Things in Life That Are Just Not Worth It.
It made me reflect on the things that I usually don’t waste my time trying to control. Here are some things that are personal lessons from my life and those around me. It is different for everyone and thinking about this helped me reflect.
You will never be the best at what you do. There will always be someone better than you. Learn from their success and improve while appreciating your level. There will always be those worse off than you, lift them where possible, and learn from their missteps. If you don’t know that there are levels, how would you know where you rank? Knowing your place helps you plan and have accurate aspirations. It also keeps you working hard. Beware of overshooting. If your goals are not achievable, you probably don’t know what your level is. Certain people in our lives are uniquely suited to bail us out of any situation, no matter how dire it looks. They’re usually a call away, and even though they are, don’t call them into action unless necessary. You don’t use a machine gun to kill a mosquito, use your broom. The same way you shouldn’t play your Get-Out-Of-Jail cards unnecessarily, keep them around, and have the insight to identify what emergency will require you to summon that extra help.
Protect your energy this year. Look back on the previous year and identify people who have formed the core of your wellbeing. This circle will include some members of your family and friends. When it comes to your inner circle, these people typically pick themselves. The next ring of trust is made up of those who aren’t your 100% trusted allies but also benefit you. These include that vendor who always orders, that contractor who always has work for you, that colleague you can always count on for a loan. Make sure they’re always happy and close to you.

Считаю, что мне повезло лицезреть этот британский сериал, который отличается от Мистера Бина и Бенни Хилла (эти сериалы я тоже люблю) тем, что он не немой, в нем вся соль в словах и образах, можно сказать, даже в стереотипах, которые высмеивает сериал. Хиацинта - гордая британская женщина с фамилией Bucket (ведро, бадейка), хотя она произносит её как Bouquet (букет) и намекает всем, кого не повстречает, что её фамилия произносится именно так, ведь она приличная женщина! Хиацинту окружают люди, которых она постоянно воспитывает, и люди в городе её очень не любят. У Хиацинты есть 3 сестры, которых, как и её саму, назвали именами цветов - Роза, Виолета и Дейзи (ромашка). Роза вечно встречается с замужними мужчинами, Дейзи замужем за ленивого Онслова, но зато Виолета богатая и приличная, что вызывает восторг в Хиацинте. Еще есть соседи - Элизабет и Эммет, церковный викар и его жена, ненормальный отец Хиацинты, сын - Шеридан и, конечно же, муж Хиацинты - Ричард, которого частенько становится жаль... Возможно, я описала всё очень драматично, но это не так - сериал потрясающе смешной, иногда до абсурда приличный... Патриция Рутледж просто неподражаема в роли педантичной и надоедливой Хиацинты. Так что если Вам попадется этот сериал - непременно смотрите! P.S. В пятом эпизоде первого сезона одну из эпизодических ролей сыграл молодой Джонни Ли Миллер (На игле, Охотники за разумом, Планкетт и Маклейн), что еще больше рассмешило меня. 10 из 10
