Public non-VoIP SMS verification services
NotphoninghomeAs I am closing my service, I thought I might as well share some public services I've used in the past, mostly for private purposes. All services also offer free & public numbers which you may want to use for testing. The services are listed in order of personal preference. And, as always, DYOR :).
SMSpool.net ⭐
This is the provider I use most, and I can highly recommend it (One should only use others if they have no stock, or rarely for pricing reasons). They have top tier support, very cheap prices, and, especially important, allow top-up of any amount, at least for all (except for Bitcoin Lightning) cryptocurrencies. They, as of now, support 1322 services and 149 Countries and 3 countries to rent. These aren't all from themselves, they rather act as a marketplace, only controlling the US pool. Their refund policy is as following:
For general deposits, as long as the balance has not been used we can offer you a full refund within 14 days of deposit
- If the code you received was deemed invalid, or the phone number was attached to an account meaning that it's unusable for the user, we also offer a full refund.
Lastly, they operate as SMSPOOL under dutch law, and numbers can be bought via their site or API, as well as a Telegram Bot.
DaisySMS.com ❤
Dunno how I've found them, but they are pretty nice! Whilst US only, they offer quite cheap prices (e.g. 0.10$ for Telegram sometimes!*), friendly support (especially seemingly native English, like smspool, for others mentioned there usually is a bit of a language barrier. They have 38 services (and not listed) and operate under US law (Company name is just DaisySMS). They completely own SIMs and modems and refund both already used numbers as well as potentially left-over balance (since they sadly also only allow 1$+ top-ups.
*They (now?) also have dynamic pricing, but at least are honest and transparent about it (site only available through login, so here's a screenshot)
SMS-MAN.com
This is the last one I've tested. Experience is alright, it is pretty Telegram based (needing to use telegram to top-up, having free (and paid) public number telegram channels, as well as the support. The bot is a little special with not showing stock and their proxy feature just not working, but yeah. I've really only used it for one Turkish number as well as Indonesian Telegram accounts. The latter also took some time to find a working number (which actually receives the codes) The support experience seems to highly depend, and they are operating under Liknot Ltd. in the UK (though they are probably Russian as well), their own CPA network. They offer 1k+ services and 100+ countries. Seemingly, refunds of balance are done until 1 week after depositing, and similar to sms-activation-service.com, they don't refund numbers, even if codes are wrong/accounts used.
Lastly, I haven't tried any of these, but they seem to be alright (sometimes not supporting XMR):
- onlinesim.io (company structure is really wierd)
- textverified.com (as many services, US only, seemingly quite popular)
- juicysms.com (NL/UK and US)
- smspva.com (real SIMs and VoIP)
- crypton.sh (only dedicated UK sims, very cheap though)
- sms4sats.com (only for satoshis/btc lightning)
- virtualsim.net (despite the name, real sims, quite a few countries for rental and expensive-ish one-time numbers)

Updated on January 3rd - removal of sms-activation-service.com due to some issues (mainly support and ever decreasing quality) I cannot recommend them anymore. I might test other services in the future. - see archived version
Updated on March 3rd. - removal of smsverify.co.uk, they seem to have gone out of business, their domain expired. Also removed my XMR address as I do not have access to it anymore. This might be the final update unless I get to know new services. - see archived version
