I've been debating about whether to post this but I feel it's important so I will.
My post is for something that really disturbed me and I love old town and have been going for years. First, so many things closed on BB and the construction is horrendous in these 4-8 blocks. But i knew that going in.

Yes I've seen it on occasion. When older gay male tourists are apparently hooking up with younger Mexican men. And yes it was somewhat disturbing to witness as an outsider. But is what it is, and not my business. I'm not sure why this is "important" to report really. Sorry it was so upsetting to you to overhear these arrangements.
Then why is there always a notice posted in the Gay Guide warning tourists to check ID and not go with underage boys/men. Specifically that predators are not welcome and that it is illegal.

I have noticed this myself on more than one occasion in restaurants on the southside, older men with younger ‘boys’ who you would otherwise think would be peddling chicklets. Disgusting, no matter what their sexuality is, yet owners turn their heads the other way. When I said something to the owner, he said everybody has to eat, if you don’t like it don’t eat here. And we don’t.
It was clearly prostitution and those are the dealings I meant, not the sexuality, it just happened to be a gay older man arranging to pay for a man who was working there.
Nothing at all to do with the sexuality and it was not a "normal date" .lol. If it was, why would anyone care.
I know it happens everywhere, but so blatant in front of customers was what was disturbing and it was clear the older man held all the cards, which is why he got two men for the inconvenience of the one he wanted not being there. Sorry, I don't see that everywhere I go in tourist restaurants and also have never seen it that apparent in PV.

I have never witnessed this but am positive it happens. Lots of things as such happen everywhere and lets face it PV is pretty liberal and gay friendly. Prostitution well ...guess need to know ages of boys and all and then why would it be restaurant owners issue. I am sure there is someone it coudl be reported to but I have no clue who.
Very sad..no matter but not sure what this post will do to help.

Just the luck of the draw. It happens. I've seen it. The ad I referred to in the Gay Guide addresses the issue head on. The text is something like "if you like them young, real young..." and continues on that you are not welcome, it is illegal, etc.
It's a sad and unfortunate situation and dynamic. It is not made better or worse because YOU happened to see an exchange like this in a "tourist restaurant" or out on the street. The real problem is not you being offended and ruining your vacation buzz (which seems the focus of your thread text) it is that is exists in the first place.

With more than 500,000 gay visitors each year to Puerto Vallarta, the Romantic Zone really is “romantic”. From the daytime longing looks at Los Muertos beach to the the nighttime cruising along the Malecon, there are plenty of places to meet handsome guys looking for fun.
Gay Cruising is part and parcel of every day life in Puerto Vallarta. It begins during the day at Playa Los Meurtos, where guys check out the latest hunk in Andrew Christian trunks! Just beyond Los Muertos you will find, Playa Conchas Chinas, popular with those seeing a more intimate rendezvous among the shallow outcrops. It is also much less touristy and free from the many beach hawkers selling everything from Oysters to Cigars.
The Spartacus Spa is Puerto Vallarta’s largest crusing area. It is clean and modern and is spread out over seaveral floors with a rooftop pool, steam room, large dark room, cruising area and private cabins. Staff are friendly and will give you a tour of the facilities. Depending on the time of year the early afternoons can be a little quiet. The busiest time is when local guys finish work so post 7pm you will find it extra busy.
Tip: Make sure you bring our ID with you to enter, no matter how old. Also bring your own flip flops! Post work (7pm to 9pm is the busiest time)
The Sauna is located just opposite the main gay strip, close to the bars and clubs on 244 Lazaro Cardenas, 48380, Puerto Vallarta.

Antropology and Wet Dreams are the two bars where you can meet a hot muscled Latino and get to play with him, for a fee of course! The dancers/strippers are not shy so you can see what’s on offer. Private dances are available. Agree your fee beforehand. You can also arrange to meet a boy after! Remember hotels require ID for guests so many guys prefer renting condos/apartments.
Prostitution is legal in Mexico. Many guys will work off social media apps such as Grindr or Hornet. Remember to lock your valuables away before inviting anyone around and let people know where you are going before meeting anyone in Puerto Vallarta.
Puerto Vallarta is one big cruising zone, however the following locations are popular, especially if you want to meet up with local guys.

The Vallarta Cora hotel fills up after the beach and before sunset. Many go for a drink and a swim by the pool. Nude sunbathing is permitted. The Cora has a bar with a very busy dark rom. Staff are gay and are friendly and welcoming. The Vallarta Cora is quite close to Los Muertos gay beach. Also popular with local guys, muscle, twinks and more. Older crowd during the early week, busier Thurs to Sunday.
Tip: Make use of the locker facilities. Do not bring valuables into the dark room.
Elizabeth Taylor Theater, 265 5 de Febrero St Puerto Vallarta
The Sala/Elizabeth Taylor Theater is an Adult Theater popular with straight and bi guys. Most of the gay action takes place in the upper Mezzanine area. Busy after work and at weekends and especially when it rains. Open from 2pm until 10pm daily. The area is gay friendly with tourists mixing with local guys, many who are not out. How busy can depend on the time of the day and the actual day of the week – busier after work.
Tip: The gay area is upstairs. No air-conditioning so it can quite quite steamy!
The best place to stay in Puerto Vallarta is in the Romantic District or old town, close to the gay bars and clubs. Hotels here tend to be small and simple, but offer clean rooms with great access to the beaches and amenities nearby.
