Project Manager Intern

Project Manager Intern

Digital nomads. Work from anywhere

Company: Olive Tree Consulting Group

Olive Tree Consulting is currently assisting a Dutch financial technology group with the refinement of their internal management structures. We need a Project Manager Intern to support our advisory team as we help this fintech client move from high speed growth to a steady, sustainable internal rhythm. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive as we coordinate complex work across distributed teams.
About the Role
The Project Manager Intern will act as a coordinator and support layer between our advisors and the leadership team at our client engagement. Often, project management in a consulting context is less about following a rigid methodology and more about ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks during busy work cycles. You will help maintain the rhythm of the engagement by tracking open decisions, organizing meeting materials, and ensuring that communication remains clear and consistent. This position is a chance to see how business strategy is translated into actual daily habits within a professional service environment.
What You Will Do
* Organize and attend weekly status meetings to capture specific action items and changes in project ownership.
* Help build the written records and project logs that prevent teams from having to repeat the same conversations.
* Coordinate scheduling between our advisors and the client leads to keep the work moving at a steady pace.
* Update internal project docs and tracking sheets to reflect the current status of various management initiatives.
* Draft project updates that distill complex discussions into plain, readable summaries.
* Support the creation of mapping documents that show how different teams hand off work to one another.
* Monitor project timelines and remind team members of upcoming deadlines.
* Maintain the project filing system to ensure all final versions of documents are easy to find.
* Assist in the preparation of weekly reports that summarize progress for the fintech group leads.
What We Are Looking For
We value people who can take a busy conversation and turn it into a clear, numbered list. You should be someone who notices the details, such as when a deadline is discussed but not recorded, or when a decision is made without a clear owner. A calm approach to work is essential. We need someone who writes well and prefers simple, direct sentences over corporate jargon. Good listening skills are vital, as you will need to distinguish between casual chatter and formal project commitments. Being comfortable working independently in a remote setting is important for this role.
Helpful Background
* Basic familiarity with organizational tools like Notion, Trello, or spreadsheet software.
* Prior experience in a role that required coordination, such as a university club or a part-time job.
* Experience writing for a specific audience where clarity and brevity were required.
* A general interest in how businesses function and why teams sometimes struggle to coordinate work at scale.
* Reliable time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines without constant reminders.
* Experience working with remote tools like Slack and Zoom.
* A preference for finishing tasks and checking things off a list rather than leaving items open.
What We Offer
This is a paid internship offering attractive and competitive compensation for an entry-level position. You will work in a fully remote environment alongside a team that values your time and respects work-life boundaries. We do not believe in unnecessary meetings or performative busyness. Instead, we offer a chance to learn the mechanics of management advisory work by doing it. You will receive direct feedback on your writing and coordination skills, helping you build a professional foundation that prizes clarity and practical results.
About Olive Tree
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems; they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company's growth.
We favor practical changes over large-scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own.
The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow-up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
