Project Management Intern
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Olive Tree Consulting Group
Olive Tree Consulting is looking for a Project Management Intern to support our advisory team. This role is focused on managing the coordination and documentation for a significant engagement with a London-based financial services firm. As a fully remote member of our team, you will help bridge the gap between our strategic advice and the daily tasks required to keep the project on track.
About the Role
This position exists to provide the structural support our advisors and clients need to be effective. Management work often fails because the small things are missed: notes are not taken, owners are not assigned, and priorities are not clearly recorded. You will be the person who prevents these gaps from forming. This is an internship designed for someone who enjoys organizing information and making sure that nothing falls through the cracks while we navigate complex work for a client in the financial sector.
What You Will Do
* Draft concise meeting summaries that focus on decisions made and specific actions required.
* Update project schedules and task lists to keep the advisory team informed of the current status.
* Organize shared digital workspaces and documentation folders so that the team can find information quickly.
* Reach out to client contacts to gather data or follow up on minor outstanding items.
* Assist in building simple progress reports for client leadership meetings.
* Observe client interactions to help identify where management habits are causing friction or delays.
* Help maintain the internal project log that tracks the timeline of our advice and the client responses.
What We Are Looking For
* A high level of attention to detail and a preference for accuracy over speed.
* The ability to write clearly and simply without using unnecessary corporate jargon.
* A reliable approach to work, especially when managing tasks independently in a remote setting.
* A natural curiosity about how businesses function and why some teams work better than others.
* The ability to stay focused and organized when managing multiple small tasks at the same time.
* Comfort with asking questions when instructions are unclear or when a project need is ambiguous.
Helpful Background
* Familiarity with standard productivity software including spreadsheets and shared document editors.
* General awareness of project management concepts like deadlines, dependencies, and task ownership.
* Previous experience in a role that required clear communication, such as a university society or a part time job.
* A basic understanding of how professional services or advisory firms operate.
* An interest in the financial services industry or organizational psychology.
What We Offer
This is a full time internship that is entirely remote. You will have the opportunity to see how management consultancy works from the inside and contribute to a real engagement with a major client. We offer a paid position with a salary that is competitive for the role and the current market. You will work in a professional environment that values your time and respects the need for deep focus. We emphasize clear, written communication over unnecessary meetings, making this an ideal place to build strong professional habits.
About Olive Tree
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company growth.
We favor practical changes over large scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own. The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
