Position Summary

The Program Officer will work closely with the American Councils Uzbekistan office and primarily within the Positive Youth Development program portfolio. The Program Officer works to advance American Councils’ mission by supporting the development and implementation of international education programs. This position is responsible for managing programs from conception to completion, including participant recruitment, program logistics, and financial management. The Program Officer is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders. This position reports to a Deputy Country Director in Tashkent and Program Manager in DC. 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the implementation of international education programs, including program logistics and participant recruitment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders.
  • Provide support and guidance to program participants throughout the program cycle.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor program activities and evaluate program outcomes, making adjustments to program design as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement new program initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational policies and procedures related to international education programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as HR, business, or communications.; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the international education field.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software suite, common social media platforms and project management tools
  • Familiarity with international education programs and study abroad procedures.
  • Proficiency in Russian and Uzbek language preferred.

Compensation

American Councils for International Education offers a competitive international salary based on Tashkent, Uzbekistan cost of living standards.
