Summary of Position

The Program Assistant will be involved in promotion, recruitment, administration, and support for American Councils’ programs in Uzbekistan. As a key member of the American Councils Uzbekistan team, the Program Assistant will also be expected to support and administer daily programming tasks. This position reports to a Program Officer and will also work directly with program staff in Tashkent, Uzbekistan office. The position is offered part-time.

Primary Responsibilities

The Program Assistant's role is dynamic and diverse, encompassing a wide range of duties. These include providing general administrative support, assisting in the preparation of presentations and communication materials, assisting in travel arrangements, communicating with program participants and stakeholders, assisting in data collection and processing, traveling to program sites, assisting in the preparation of social media publications, and responding to general inquiries. Day-to-day, the position involves:

·      Arranging travel and lodging for the personnel involved in program implementation

·      Supporting data collection and monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities related to the Access program

·      Responding to various questions/inquiries received from program participants

·      Assisting in the preparation/posting of publications in program media channels

·      Liaising with venues and vendors, compiling pricing estimates, and assisting with procurement processes 

·      Traveling to program sites for recruitment, observation, and testing purposes

·      Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

·      Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field of study

·      Minimum 1-2 years of experience in education, educational management or administration, office administration, personnel management

·      Proactive and flexible in task execution and program implementation

·      Excellent communication and multicultural interpersonal skills

·      Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills; excellent attention to detail

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and familiarity with common social media platforms  

·      Willingness to travel to the regions of Uzbekistan

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Russian, and Uzbek.
