"Private Eyes" star Jason Priestley says he's sad his Global TV series is coming to an end, noting its demise came as "a great surprise" to the cast and crew.
It was Global that decided to wrap up the Toronto-shot private-detective drama after the fifth and final season, which started Wednesday and moves to its regular time slot next Thursday. (Source: toronto.com)

This is stupid, at the very least have more than 8 episodes on the last season we needed at least 2 or 3 episodes following Angie and Matt’s relationship. Global is clown level stupid this is the best show on global and they cancel it. Ridiculous!!!
How can so many terrible shows continue to be renewed and one of the very good ones get the boot? Canadian TV is becoming more and more embarasing with each new season. No wonder so many Canadians are subscribing to other networks.........any network without Canadian content.

Please add another season. This is a great show, Canadian humour, sights, and actors. Just the right amount of sexiness that my parents too enjoy the show. 3 votes to continue with 2 more seasons. Decision makers know this, you have a hit. Keep this and trash Big Brother.
great show, great plots and great actors disappointed it has been cancelled after season 5 and that there will be no more especially when there are other shows that are not as good and have been kept. please reconsider this decision.
I love!!!! This show. Great stories, terrific acting, love seeing the local neighbourhoods showcased. Great chemistry with Cindy and Jason. So sorry to see it go.

This is not good news.Private Eyes is a great show, appealing to all audiences.Shows of this calibre are rare on Canadian TV.The overall violence of American shows is profane
and I never watch any of them.Let us continue to have this amazing show to enjoy.

This is the best Canadian made show since the Listener. It rivals anything our southern neighbours make. Global needs to take a hard look at their decisions. When something is this good and successful, RUN WITH IT, and show you have some kind of respect for your viewers? Shows like this put us on the map and make us contenders on the global market. In this difficult time we need something to help us cope with things we can’t control so let us control this. Please bring back Private Eyes!
I for one am sick of good Canadian shows being cancelled before their time. I love Private Eyes. The reasons given are ridiculous. They are also quite and insult to us. How stupid do they think we are?Why should we watch these productions and enjoy the characters so much if they are going to be cancelled before their time?
I love Private Eyes. They were very inconsistent as to when the shows were being shown. It was an obvious hit. This isn't the first time Global has made a ridiculous decision to cancel a great Canadian show. It truly makes me wonder why we should even watch and get attached to shows we love if this is how they treat us viewers. I for one am not happy

I was so pleased when Private Eyes was launched on Global, which offered nothing else except The Morning Show that I watched. The casting was great with the ongoing story lines keeping up with all the characters. Then I learn that the show is being cancelled. And that Fantasy Island, one of the worst shows ever broadcast, is being rebooted and brought to Global. If the writers were tired of coming up with new plots for Private Eyes, then get new writers. The chemistry between all the cast members is excellent and I have loved seeing places that I recognized in Toronto. I can only hope that perhaps another network - one that actually cares about its viewers - may pick up the series as Murdock Mysteries was picked up by CBC many years ago. Shame on you Global.
It’s time the “powers that be” answered the question straight as to why “PRIVATE EYES”got canceled, it doesn’t “fit the mold” for American viewing. As far as they are concerned, there has to be copious amounts of violence in order to be watched. Gunfights, explosions, killings, etc, are what they are used to in their “Cops and Robbers” shows, and anything even slightly sophisticated is not to their liking. They base their viewing preferences on these criteria and it shows the outcome in the actions of their everyday society.
I live in Chicago and bought the first two seasons on Amazon. They have never added additional seasons. My husband and I love it! The characters and stories are great! I was so sorry to see it is being canceled. I agree the networks get rid of shows you're not embarrassed to watch with your family and keep all the [censored] that's not fit to watch!

Private eyes is my favourite tv drama and I look forward to it. Its refreshing to have 2 wonderful Canadian actors Cindy Samppson and Jason Priestley playing detectives as well as the added cast. Its has humour, drama and family content, which we need in television. Can another Canadian network pick up this series? I hope so.

I love, love, love this show. It is a shame that this is its last season. They seem to cancel all of the truly good shows that people love to watch.
It is really sad that this show is ending. It is one of the most entertaining and enjoyable shows on the tube right now. One of the few shows we watch every week religiously. It should be promoted in the US a lot more. Private Eyes is a classy fun to watch program that is uncommon in today's market. I will miss it.

PLEASE don't cancel Private Eyes.......great Canadian show that's shot locally......almost romances are so great without being explicit and I'm think that is why the "almost" is so intriguing. Everything these days is so extreme and so this is nice......
