As a consultant, I help people to reach ambitious results in counseling and consulting private practices. I absolutely love helping counselors and consultants to increase their income and their influence!
If you’re ready to grow your income and influence, you are in the right place!
Before we take up time discussing whether you’re ready for consulting, take a moment to walk through these questions. They will help align your expectations
Every week, I get to help private practice owners to reach their ambitious results. Of course results are not guaranteed, but I’ve seen huge growth in a short period of time with most of my consulting clients.
Answering these three questions help you to be the most informed client, seeking a consultant. Whether you go with me or someone else (there’s a lot of great consultants out there), the more clear that you are on your ambitious results, the quicker you will grow!
I take 15-30 minutes to interview each potential consulting client. This is a time hear about your ambitious results and what ideas and projects make you come alive. By the end of the interview, I’ll give you options. If I think I can help you reach your ambitious results best, I’ll give you package options. Otherwise, I let you know other next steps.
Take a moment to review these suggestions for you to consider before starting consulting.
I have found that successful private practice owners see the strongest results when they commit to growing their practice for at least four months. I don’t want you to pay for consulting that does not pay you back for the time and money you spend. Also, it makes me look bad to have people say, “I did consulting with Joe, but it didn’t work.”
At the end of the consulting interview, I’ll give you two ideas for your catered consulting package options. The minimum package is $495 per month and I try to lump as much into those packages to help you grow really quickly.
During each session, we work together to decide what action will give you the biggest return on your investment of time. We’ll determine your “one thing” and you’ll have a list of your next things to complete. Sometimes it is overwhelming when we have huge “to do” lists, that’s why we will focus on constant movement forward.
Unsure if you’re ready for consulting? Let’s still talk. If you think you’re not ready, you can still make forward progress! Begin with some of my starter products, like the Member’s Newsletter .
Here’s how we can get moving. Here are questions we discuss in your interview:
We went into counseling because we enjoy helping people, we like individual conversations, and we think something amazing happens when people talk, you know, actually talk. There are loads of private practice consultants out there that do an amazing job. I’m friends with many of them. Here is why I am different:
Here are some things that are often in the packages.
Most packages have some combination of these things:

"Kristie has finally helped me understand what SEO actually is and is implementing a plan that is WORKING. There was a sizable uptick in quality referrals (one therapist in our practice booked 12 new clients in 2.5 weeks) just a few weeks after beginning our work together. She's responsive, easy to work with and does a wonderful job!"
Founder, Highland Park Holistic Psychotherapy
"Kristie has been so amazing to work with. She has taken over a side of my business that I had no knowledge about and I feel so comfortable trusting her with her process. She has improved my overall SEO and created a new website for me that is so much more reflective of my practice and my work. I obtain consistent calls and emails with inquiries for my support because people can actually find my website in searches now!"
"Working with Kristie was a dream! She is an SEO expert, and she translated her knowledge into easy to understand and execute action items. I have increased my call rate by 50% per month as a result of working with her!"
"Working with Kristie has been such an easy process. She's always willing to answer my questions, walk me through things, and make the process as easy as possible. This lets me focus more on my clinical work, and takes off any pressure that comes with SEO."
Founder, Online Therapy for Anxious Millennials
"Kristie is amazing with SEO for therapists! There's no need to spend time explaining what's expected of therapists in the mental health world, she is already prepared and well informed of what's needed for marketing specifically for therapists. I'm lucky I found her and it's a pleasure working together!"
"Kristie has helped me so much in understanding SEO. As a therapist this is far removed from my knowledge and she delivers it in a kind, easy to digest way. Would recommend her services to anyone needing SEO help."
"As a therapist, SEO is something I knew very little about until I found Kristie. Kristie has made the ins and outs of SEO so much more accessible, easy to understand, and approachable. And to top it all off she's super warm, kind, and genuine. I would definitely recommend her!"
"Kristie designed my website and guided me through all things SEO! She was easy to work with, laid back, and very knowledgeable. Without her services I would still be caught in the endless cycle of trial and error, wasting money, and stressing myself out! She is definitely worth the investment!"

I teach you everything I know about SEO for therapists and coaches so you can do SEO affordably, effectively, and independently.
You're starting your own therapy practice. You want to work with your ideal clients, make the income that you deserve, and take back your schedule. You're making it happen :)
But with all that liberation comes a lot of responsibility. Now, you're responsible for things that you might not know too much about, like marketing.
As a student of the web myself, I know how to piece together an education with blog posts, podcasts, free online courses, etc... but when you're trying to get your private practice off the ground, you may not have the luxury of time to teach yourself how to do marketing.
A private practice consultant helps you relieve the unknown and expedite the success of your private practice.
If you want to gain marketing skills and have a marketing strategy in place for your private practice, you're in the right place.
I help therapists like you eliminate marketing overwhelm, learn marketing skills, and form a marketing strategy going forward.
I have a background in Psychology and years of digital marketing experience.
A good marketing strategy should cover a variety of channels. During my consulting, we discuss the following topics.
I'm an SEO specialist, so is this is the core of our work together. Although I'm biased, SEO will be a huge part of your practice's success. If you're a service-based business, you need a solid presence on Google.
SEO encompasses a lot of different strategies, but we'll focus on getting awesome links and writing content that ranks.
Local SEO is like SEO, but instead of optimizing your website, we optimize your Google My Business listing. If you don't have one yet, make one right now. Seriously! It's free, and if you rank well, you are at the top of the search engine results page. It takes months to get to the top of the search engine results page, but if you do your local SEO right, you can get months ahead.
I teach you my exact strategy for getting more exposure on Google My Business, from what to post to what listings on websites like Yellow Pages you need. We'll even discuss ethical ways of getting reviews.
Local SEO is not talked about enough in the therapist marketing space, so it'll be your secret weapon!
Yay! You have successfully gotten someone to click on your website. But now what? Just because someone went to your website doesn't mean that they'll contact you.
It's estimated that for a user to buy a product or hire a business, a user sees that company's content five to six times. Five to six times!!
This is where email marketing comes in. When a user is on your website, you want to bring them into your ecosystem and introduce yourself. Through email marketing, you can provide tons of value, show potential clients what you do, and show them exactly who you are (because nobody has time for countless phone consultations only for none of them to result in clients).
With your psychologist marketing consultant (me!), we'll come up with a strategy for your email marketing and discuss best practices to turn those web visitors into leads.
You've probably heard this dozens of times before, but it's crucial to nail your niche .
During our time together, we'll discuss your niche and how to attract your ideal clients through website copy and visual assets.
I'm assuming you're here because you know that therapist directories aren't enough to fill your practice. Even if they were, do you really want to leave your practice's wellbeing in the hands of an algorithm that no one understands?
We won't get too much into directories, but I can recommend my favorites and how to optimize them for conversions.
During our fifty minute sessions (6 sessions total), we'll discuss the topics I mentioned above and any other niche strategies.
You'll also get access to the entire curriculum of my group consulting program Optimize Your Practice .
After our sessions, I send detailed messages covering the topics that we discussed, your "homework" for the time before our next session, links to relevant articles and tutorials, and anything else that we discussed during our calls.
My clients love their list of homework. When they feel overwhelmed by their new practice, they appreciate being able to check off a list of marketing activities and know that they're doing the right things. I make sure that the work is manageable, too. I provide you with a list that will only take you a couple of hours to complete.
You also receive Voxer and messaging support between sessions.
I can help with aspects of your practice formation like branding, messaging, business name ideas, marketing your practice, etc. I cannot help with licensing, contracts, and issues related to your state's code of ethics.
For six private consulting calls, my group consulting curriculum, ongoing email support between sessions, editing, plus personalized homework and tutorials, you pay $3,000 (there's a payment plan available).
Yes. I require six sessions (ideally two per month). This amount of time is necessary for us to maximize the value of our sessions and make a difference in your practice. You also should budget for a couple of hours per week spent applying what you learned with me.
There are a few signs that private practice consulting is for you. First, you are trying to maintain a lean marketing budget . Second, you want to gain skills for the future . Third, you need guidance . Maybe you want to do this stuff, but you just need to be told what to do. I can help!
My idea of SEO success is a strong web presence on Google, regular client leads, and consistently increasing organic traffic to your website and Google My Business listing.
Are you ready to start getting clients? Book a call with me to see if we're a good fit.
We are honored to have worked with many incredible therapists and coaches. You can hear more about their experiences with us below.

Management consulting firms exist in every corner of the planet and serve virtually every industry niche. While everyone knows about McKinsey & Company , Boston Consulting Group , and Bain & Company , there are numerous other consulting firms that offer great client service and fantastic professional experience. But how do you know which consulting companies would be best for your career path? Well, we’ve aggregated a list of top management consulting firms for you.
If you’re an aspiring consultant, don’t stop at the Top 3 ( MBB ) consulting firms – there are many aspects to consider when looking at which consulting firm would be the right fit for you .
Yes, MBB firms offer the greatest prestige, but there actually may be other firms that fit your specific career path better. Do you know what you want to do after your time in consulting? Are you just going to pick the consulting firm with the largest reach? If so, you might be surprised to learn that neither McKinsey , BCG or Bain are even in the top 10 in terms of revenue generated.
Some consulting firms require almost 100% travel, others require much less. Some charge by the hour and others by the project – there’s a big cultural difference between being incentivized to complete your work quickly and maxing out your billable hours. You may want to be involved with a specific diversity group or live in a specific city. All of these are important considerations as you narrow down your personal list of target firms.
A quick note on the list below: there are many, many ways to categorize consulting firms. Here, we’ve first organized this list around types of consulting firms, and then alphabetically within each category. However, to use a consulting term, we wanted to be MECE (mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive). In other words, we wanted each of our top 25 firms to fall into only one category.
We put the MBB – McKinsey, Bain, BCG – in their own category, MBB . Each firm has a foundation in core strategy, but now offers many other services as well. And each has a prestige level that is high enough that creates the need for a separate category.
We also have a General Management and Strategy consulting category for top consulting firms. What these firms do is somewhat similar to MBB. In addition, they have relatively high levels of prestige. These types of firms work on projects focused on setting strategic direction, pricing, organic and M&A growth strategy, sales, and organization. They also spend a lot of time focused on operations, financial engineering, and turnaround consulting. The top firms in this category are: EY-Parthenon, Strategy&, Kearney, LEK, Oliver Wyman, and Roland Berger.
The Accounting, Finance & Technology category consists of Accenture, Booz Allen, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, PwC, and Wavestone. If we had to choose a “one-stop-shop” category, this would be it. These firms tend to have organizational histories in accounting, but technology consulting also plays a huge role in their service offerings. At the same time, firms in this group also do strategy consulting and operations consulting.
Economic and litigation consulting is its own beast. Firms in this part of the consulting market use advanced economic theories, tools, principles, and applications to help companies understand the value of assets or develop unique strategies. But they also tend to work alongside law firms to help place a value on the impact of illegal market behavior. Analysis Group is the only contender in this category.
Operations and turnaround consultants work on the front lines with clients. They might design new pricing strategies, get involved in sourcing key inputs, or be heavily involved in sales execution. When firms are facing or are actually in bankruptcy, they may need to hire a turnaround consultant. AlixPartners, Alvarez and Marsal, and Insight Sourcing Group fall into this category.
Mercer is the lone member of our HR consulting category. Other HR consulting firms exist of course, such as Hewitt, but in our list of Top 25 firms, Mercer is the only HR consulting representative.
We have one more category with only one member. Bridgespan comprises the totality of our Non-profit consulting category. It, and firms like it, can work on strategy development, operations, HR, or organizational issues, but focus on non-profit clients only. Oftentimes, strategies for fundraising are a key issue faced by nonprofits.
And finally, our list of Top 25 consulting firms contains some Industry or Function-focused players : Clearview, Guidehouse, and Putnam fall here. These consulting firms focus on particular industries (i.e., healthcare, energy, financial services) or functions (i.e., supply chain, market research).
For each firm, we provide a summary of what they do. Then, we offer details on:
The most prestigious consulting firms on the planet. Generally, the foundation of their offerings is strategy consulting, but these firms offer surprisingly broad services.
Bain is the youngest of the world’s top three consulting firms. The company places a large emphasis on camaraderie and has the “frattiest” culture out of the Big 3. Bain currently employs over 12,000 people across 50 offices worldwide.
Though “Bainees” build strong relationships amongst their teams, consultants are still required to work long hours in return for interesting projects and excellent exit opportunities. The firm utilizes a local staffing model, meaning that projects are as near each local office as possible. Bain has also differentiated itself through its expertise in private equity through Bain Capital , made even more famous by previous leader Mitt Romney. Bain has also earned a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign for 12 years and was named ‘Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.’
The Boston Consulting Group ( BCG ) is known as an innovative thought leader in the consulting industry with a strong focus on strategy. BCG has an intellectual culture that prioritizes creativity and academia. The
