AMANDA'S DIARY is typical "big-budget" (by current standards) Euro porn emanating from the venerable Private label. Perhaps following the European Common Market model, this once Swedish or French company is now impossible to pin down as to its porn nationality -with this effort featuring Eastern European girls added to the standard stable of Continental stars.
They made 5 video features in this series, and I'll review the first entry -basically plot-less they lead nowhere and even mix up the cast at will. Even Amanda disappears after a couple of segments, with other actresses substituted bearing the name but constituting new characters.
Opener does showcase the charms of Dutch brunette Kate More in the title role. She hangs out with her best friend a redhead named Hanna. They spend a lot of time with color-coded dildos, but the male cast also gets to participate as long as they wear condoms. I was assuming Private is one of those porn outfits like Vivid that promotes safe sex, but I gather this is really a stunt to help sell their own brand of condoms -George Lucas take note of this as-yet unmined form of merchandising for your next STAR WARS segments. One clunky note: even in her fantasy sequences of making love to an imaginary guy Amanda visualizes him wearing a condom. Is nothing, not even the right to fantasize, sacred?
What passes for a storyline is Amanda's 18 year old birthday party starting the show, Her subsequent non-adventures are strictly sexual, though there's some nice touristy scenery in Spain and video ends in a verdant garden capped off by obligatory anal sex and even a d.p. Femme narration gives the show a female point-of-view but is there merely to facilitate its availability in a host of different language-tracks..
Enough European porn has been made with interesting story lines in recent decades to render AMANDA'S DIARY a non-starter by comparison.
