1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Giuseppe Dimare ("we", "us", or "our") manages information when you use Remote TV ("the App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with these practices, please stop using the App immediately.
2. Data We Collect
Information You Provide
The App does not require or store any personal information on remote servers. Any preferences you set—such as temperature units, display settings, or other configurations—are stored solely on your device and never transmitted externally.
Automatically Collected Technical Information
To enhance app stability and performance, certain technical information may be collected automatically through third-party tools, including:
- Device model and manufacturer
- Operating system and version
- App version
- Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
- Performance logs and crash reports
We do not directly access or use personally identifiable information from these sources.
3. Third-Party Analytics and Services
We integrate third-party services solely to help maintain the App’s performance and identify issues:
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting
- Google Analytics for Firebase for usage analytics
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing data collection and usage. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies to understand their practices.
4. Access Permissions
Photos and Videos Access
The App requires access to your device's photo library solely for the purpose of allowing you to select and stream photos or videos to your television using AirPlay. The App does not store, transmit, or share your photo or video content.
Local Network Access
The App requires access to your local network to discover and connect with your TV via Wi-Fi. Without this permission, the remote control and streaming functionalities will not be available.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Remote TV itself does not use cookies. However, third-party services integrated into the App may utilize cookies or similar technologies. You can manage or disable these through your device settings, although doing so may impact functionality.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Technical data collected automatically is retained only as long as needed for performance analysis or troubleshooting. Such data is aggregated or deleted regularly to prevent identification.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR), you may have rights to:
- Access data collected about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request data portability
Given that we do not collect or retain personal data, these rights typically do not apply. If you have concerns regarding data accuracy or privacy, please contact us.
8. International Data Transfers
Data collected by third-party analytics services may be processed on servers outside your country. Such transfers are subject to the privacy protections provided by those third-party services.
9. Children's Privacy
Remote TV is not intended for children under 4 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under this age. If you become aware of any data collected from a child under 4, please inform us so we can promptly remove it.
10. California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), residents of California have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected, used, or shared
- Request deletion of personal data
- Opt-out of the sale of personal data (not applicable as we do not sell data)
Remote TV respects these rights and does not discriminate against users exercising them.
11. Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption during data transmission, secure development practices, and routine security checks. However, no method is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data protection.
12. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to external websites or services not operated by Giuseppe Dimare. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external entities.
13. Face and Biometric Data
Remote TV does not collect, use, store, or share any face or biometric data, including face geometry, expressions, or Face ID authentication data. The App does not utilize facial recognition or related biometric technologies. If future updates introduce biometric features, users will be notified, and consent will be explicitly requested.
14. Refund-Related Information Disclosure
When users seek refunds for purchases made within the app, Apple may be provided with specific anonymized usage metrics. Such metrics might cover details like how long the app has been installed, total active usage, anonymized user IDs, specifics regarding the extent to which purchases were utilized, and financial transaction data. This information is exclusively shared to confirm and facilitate refund approvals, and no data capable of identifying individuals is ever disclosed.
15. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
If you choose to subscribe to premium features or make other in-app purchases, the transaction and subscription data are processed securely through Apple (App Store). We do not store or have direct access to your payment information. Apple may share with us anonymised transaction details, such as subscription type, duration, renewal status, and country of purchase. This data is used solely for managing your subscription status and providing support, and does not include personally identifiable financial information. Please review the Apple App Store for additional information on their handling of subscription data.
16. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. We will notify users of changes within the App. Continued use of Remote TV after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
