Privacy Policy for SnapGet

Effective Date: May 8, 2026

Extension Name: SnapGet – Bulk Image Downloader

Developer: Hax

Overview

SnapGet is a Chrome extension that allows users to scan, filter, and download images from any webpage. This Privacy Policy explains what data SnapGet accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

The core principle of SnapGet is simple: everything stays on your device. No images, URLs, browsing history, or personal information are ever collected, transmitted, or stored on any external server.

Data We Do NOT Collect

SnapGet does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of the following:

  • Your browsing history or visited URLs
  • Images or media files you scan or download
  • Personal identification information of any kind
  • Cookies or session data
  • Crash reports or analytics events
  • Any data sent to a remote server operated by the developer

Data Accessed Locally (On Your Device Only)

To provide its core functionality, SnapGet accesses the following data entirely on your local machine:

Page Content (activeTab + scripting)

When you click SCAN, SnapGet injects a content script into the currently active tab to read the page's DOM. This allows the extension to find all images, including <img> tags, srcset sources, <picture> elements, CSS background images, inline SVGs, video posters, and Open Graph meta tags. This data is processed in memory and is never stored or transmitted.

Image URLs and Metadata

Image source URLs and metadata (dimensions, file type, aspect ratio) are read temporarily to power the filter and preview features. This data exists only for the duration of your session and is discarded when you close the side panel or navigate away.

User Preferences (storage)

SnapGet uses Chrome's local storage API to remember your filter settings, minimum width preferences, and preferred download format between sessions. This data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

Downloads

When you initiate a download, SnapGet uses Chrome's downloads API to save files directly to your local device. No download metadata is reported back to the developer.
