This Privacy Policy explains how Personal Assistant ("Personal Assistant", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use the Personal Assistant mobile application and related services (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed through the Service, including in-app interactions, support communications, and subscription-related operations.

- Text, prompts, messages, instructions, and other content you submit in the app.
- Photos, images, screenshots, voice or audio recordings, and files or documents you choose to attach, upload, or record.
- Information you provide when creating email drafts, reminders, or other generated content.
- Support or feedback messages you send to us.
### B. Data generated through your use of the Service
- Feature usage information, such as when you use AI features, web search, onboarding, settings, subscriptions, or shortcuts.
- Conversation history and generated outputs stored in the app experience.
- App preferences and settings you choose, such as feature toggles and consent choices.
- Weekly token budget status and related app-state data used to manage access limits.
### C. Device and technical data
- Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and general technical environment.
- Diagnostic, crash, and reliability information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
### D. Subscription and billing data
- Subscription entitlement status, product identifiers, offer/trial status, and purchase-related status information.
- Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive full payment card details.
### E. Internet search query data
- If you use internet-enabled features, your search query text may be sent to DuckDuckGo to retrieve web results.
## 4. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- Process your requests and generate AI outputs.
- Transcribe audio you submit for AI-powered speech-to-text features.
- Generate image, text, file-analysis, reminder, and email-draft outputs you request.
- Provide internet-enabled responses and retrieve web search results.
- Manage subscriptions, paywalls, trials, purchases, restores, and access to premium features.
- Provide customer support and respond to communications.
- Monitor reliability, diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and improve the user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
## 5. AI and Third-Party Processing Disclosure
When you use AI features, the content you submit for that request may be sent to third-party providers that help deliver the feature you chose.
This may include:
- text, prompts, and messages you type,
- photos or images you attach,
- voice or audio recordings you upload or record for transcription,
- files or documents you attach, and
- instructions you provide for generated outputs such as drafts or summaries.
The primary AI provider used by the Service is:
- OpenAI, for AI-generated responses, image generation, file understanding, and audio transcription.
When you use web search features, your query text may also be sent to:
- DuckDuckGo, to retrieve web search results.
If you do not grant the in-app AI consent requested by the Service, AI requests are not sent to OpenAI and AI features remain unavailable.
## 6. How We Share Data
We may share personal data only as reasonably necessary with the following categories of recipients:
- OpenAI, to process AI requests you initiate.
- DuckDuckGo, when you use web-search-enabled features.
- Apple, for App Store billing, subscriptions, purchase processing, and app distribution.
- Adapty, to manage subscription paywalls, entitlements, purchase state, trial/offering presentation, and related subscription operations.
- Google Firebase services, including app configuration and related operational services used by the app.
- Service providers, contractors, or infrastructure vendors that help us operate, secure, or support the Service.
- Authorities, courts, regulators, or law enforcement when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal data for money. We do not share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
## 7. Legal Bases (Where Required)
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Contract: processing needed to provide the Service and features you request.
- Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, diagnostics, service reliability, and product improvement.
- Consent: where legally required, including in-app consent for third-party AI processing and certain device permissions.
- Legal obligation: compliance with law, lawful requests, and regulatory requirements.

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Our general retention approach is:
- In-app conversation content may remain available in the app until you delete it, clear app history, or remove the app and its data.
- Temporary files such as audio recordings, generated images, or imported files may persist until removed by app logic, operating-system cleanup, or user action.
- Support communications may be retained as needed for support, recordkeeping, and legal compliance.
- Subscription and entitlement records may be retained as needed for billing support, fraud prevention, and compliance.
- Third-party providers may retain data in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service relies on third-party services, including OpenAI, DuckDuckGo, Apple, Adapty, and Google Firebase services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies and terms, not this Privacy Policy. Please review their policies before using features that transmit data to them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app, on the website or policy page you use for distribution, or in related materials, and we will update the "Last Updated" date. Material changes may be highlighted where required by law.
