Privacy Policy for VPNLY

Privacy Policy for VPNLY

Effective Date: May 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy defines the operational data management practices deployed within the VPNLY browser extension ("we", "our", or "us"). Our software development framework is engineered strictly around data minimization, client-side execution, and absolute user anonymity.

1. Single Purpose Specification

In strict accordance with the Chrome Web Store Single Purpose Policy, this extension serves one dedicated technical function: to configure browser proxy parameters to adjust the user's virtual location and restore access to open network resources. All integrated internal mechanisms and permissions are confined strictly to supporting this single purpose and initial onboarding.

2. Data Practices and Logs Exclusion

We maintain a strict zero-knowledge network architecture to protect your identity:

  • No User Identifiers: VPNLY does not require account creation, registration, or any personal data submission (such as names, phone numbers, or email addresses).
  • No Browsing Logs: We do not track, collect, capture, or store your browsing history, web traffic destinations, IP addresses, search queries, or content payload.
  • Transient Real-Time Processing: Network routing through our proxy infrastructure is executed entirely transiently in real-time. Data packets simply pass through our nodes and are never written to permanent disks, text logs, or central databases.

3. Required Browser Permissions Justification

The extension requests a limited set of browser permissions to execute its technical operations:

  • proxy: Used exclusively to apply and modify proxy configurations within the browser environment based on manual user interaction.
  • storage: Used solely on the client side to maintain internal application states, such as the active location identifier and the connection toggle status. This data remains local to your device.
  • tabs: Used strictly during the initial post-installation phase to programmatically trigger the opening of a dedicated onboarding welcome page. This ensures proper user guidance and is never utilized to monitor active browsing sessions or track tab history.

4. Third-Party Sharing Restrictions

We do not sell, rent, trade, lease, or share any information with third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or external analytics systems. Because our system does not collect or store records of your web activity, no user data exists to be distributed or exposed.

5. Document Amendments

This document may undergo periodic updates to maintain compliance with changing web store regulatory guidelines. The "Effective Date" at the top indicates when the latest technical revision was implemented.
