Privacy Policy for UIAUIA Link Shortener

UIAUIA Link Shortener is a Chrome extension that allows users to create shortened uiiauia.com links for the webpage currently open in their browser.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the extension.

Information processed

When you open the extension, it may access:

The URL of the currently active browser tab
The title of the currently active browser tab

This information is used only to display the current page in the extension popup and create a shortened link.

The extension does not read the contents of webpages, access inactive tabs, monitor browsing history, or track browsing activity.

Link-shortening service

When you click “make it uiiauia,” the URL of the current webpage is sent to:

https://uiiauia.com/api/shorten

The UIAUIA link-shortening service stores the destination URL so the generated short link can redirect visitors to the original webpage.

The service may also store:

The generated short-link path
The date and time the short link was created
An approximate click count for the short link

Do not shorten URLs containing confidential, private, or sensitive information.

Clipboard access

The extension uses clipboard access only when you click the Copy button.

It writes the generated short link to your clipboard. The extension does not read, monitor, or collect existing clipboard contents.

Installation page

After the extension is installed for the first time, it opens the following confirmation page:

This page is opened only after the initial installation and is not opened during normal browser use or browser restarts.

As with most websites, the server operating this page may receive standard technical request information such as:

IP address
Browser type
User agent
Date and time of the request
Referring information provided by the browser

Data not collected by the extension

The extension does not collect:

Names
Email addresses
Phone numbers
Physical addresses
Passwords
Payment information
Authentication credentials
Precise location
Personal communications
Complete browsing history
Keystrokes
Clipboard contents
Advertising identifiers

The extension does not sell personal information.

Information is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.

The active webpage URL is transmitted only to the UIAUIA link-shortening service when you request creation of a short link.

Information may be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or to protect the security and operation of the service.

Data retention

Destination URLs and their generated short-link records may be retained for as long as the shortened links remain active.

Basic technical server logs may be retained temporarily for security, maintenance, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect the link-shortening service. However, no internet service or data-storage system can guarantee complete security.

Users should not submit confidential or sensitive URLs through the extension.

Children’s privacy

The extension is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

User control

You may stop the extension from accessing the current tab by closing the popup, disabling the extension, or uninstalling it from Chrome.

You may uninstall the extension by opening:

chrome://extensions

Then locate UIAUIA Link Shortener and select Remove.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the extension’s functionality, permissions, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when material changes are made.
