Introduction
TuteKnot ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our tutoring business management application.
Information We Don't Collect
TuteKnot does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. We do not:
- Collect any personal data from users
- Track user behavior or activities
- Use analytics or advertising services
- Require account registration or login
- Share data with third parties
- Access your contacts, photos, or other device data beyond what is necessary for app functionality
Data Storage
All data you create in TuteKnot (including student information, lesson schedules, payment records, and notes) is stored locally on your device. This data includes:
- Student names and contact information
- Lesson schedules and session history
- Payment records and financial data
- Notes and custom settings
You have complete control over this data, and it never leaves your device except through features you explicitly control (iCloud sync and data export).
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your TuteKnot data will be synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This sync:
- Is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud infrastructure
- Encrypts your data in transit and at rest
- Is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- Can be disabled at any time in your device settings
- Does not give us (the app developers) access to your data
We do not have access to data stored in your iCloud account.
Network Requests
TuteKnot makes network requests only for the following purposes:
Currency Exchange Rates: When you use multi-currency features, the app fetches current exchange rates from public APIs. These requests:
- Only send the currency codes (e.g. "USD", "EUR")
- Do not include any personal information
- Do not track or identify you
- Are made anonymously
No other network requests are made by the app.
Data Export
You can export your data from TuteKnot in CSV or PDF format. When you use these features:
- Data is processed entirely on your device
- You control where exported files are saved
- No data is sent to external servers during export
Children's Privacy
TuteKnot does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is designed for tutors and educators, not for children.
Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time
- Deletion: You can delete any or all data from the app settings or by deleting the app
- Export: You can export your data at any time
- Portability: Your exported data can be used with other applications
Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your data:
- All data is stored securely on your device using iOS security features
- No data is transmitted to external servers (except optional iCloud sync)
- The app uses iOS app sandboxing for data isolation
Third-Party Services
TuteKnot does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service accessed is public currency exchange rate APIs, which do not receive any personal information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Posting the new policy on our website
- Providing notice within the app if changes are significant
International Users
TuteKnot is available worldwide and complies with:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for European users
- CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) for California users
- Other applicable privacy laws and regulations
Since we do not collect personal data, most data processing regulations do not apply to our app.
