Privacy Policy for Tally

Tally

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Tally is a personal finance tracker that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains what data Tally handles and how.

Data we collect

None. Tally does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, financial data, or usage analytics. Everything you type into Tally — purchases, subscriptions, custom categories — lives only on your iPhone, in your private app storage. There is no server, no account, and no login.

Network requests

Tally makes a small number of anonymous, outbound network requests for the sole purpose of displaying brand icons next to your subscriptions:

  • Apple iTunes Search API (https://itunes.apple.com) — used to find the App Store icon for a subscription you have named (e.g. "Netflix").
  • DuckDuckGo Icon Service (https://icons.duckduckgo.com) — used as a fallback to fetch website favicons.

Neither service receives any of your personal information — only the public name of the subscription you typed.

Third-party services

None beyond the icon services above.

Children's privacy

Tally is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

In-app purchases

Tally offers optional one-time tips ("Tip Jar"). Tip transactions are processed by Apple's StoreKit. We receive only a confirmation that a tip was made, never your payment details.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will reflect that.
