This Privacy Policy explains how StowawayPass ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

StowawayPass is a world-travel trivia game. Your progress is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. The App's only network use is fetching illustrative reference photographs and short descriptions for its questions from a public third-party source, as described in Section 4 — no personal or user-derived data is sent with those requests.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates (the App never requests location permission)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• The advertising identifier (the App does not request or use it)
• Your stamps, awards, statistics or any other in-game content

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device, in local app storage, and is never sent to any external server:

• Progress: collected stamps in your Stamp Atlas, unlocked awards and medallions.
• Statistics: play statistics, streaks and mode results.

All locally stored data remains under your full control. It is deleted when you uninstall the App.

4. Third-Party Services

The App fetches illustrative photographs and short descriptive text for its questions from the public Wikipedia REST API (`en.wikipedia.org`). The search term used for each request comes from the App's own bundled question catalogue — no user-entered or device-identifying data is sent with these requests. If a fetch fails, the App falls back to a bundled placeholder illustration and continues to work offline. Your use of Wikipedia's service through these requests is subject to the Wikimedia Foundation's own privacy practices. The App integrates no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.

5. Permissions

The App declares the following permissions:

• `android.permission.INTERNET` — used only to fetch the reference photograph and text for each question from the Wikipedia REST API.
• `android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` — used only to detect connectivity and show an offline notice.

No personal data is transmitted with any request. The App does NOT request location, contacts, phone identifiers, SMS/call log, camera, microphone, storage, or the advertising identifier.

6. No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

StowawayPass does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), or third-party tracking libraries. There are no ads of any kind within the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no personal information from any user, it is safe for use by all ages.

8. Data Security

Because all progress is stored locally on your device, the security of that data depends on the security measures provided by the Android operating system and your device (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not expose any data to external parties.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of this document bundled with a new App release. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
