Privacy Policy for Space Chrome Extension
Effective Date: October 27, 2026
1. Introduction
Space ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data within the Space extension for Google Chrome.
2. Data Collection and Usage
Space operates entirely on a local basis. We believe in absolute data privacy, which means:
- No Accounts: You do not need to create an account to use Space.
- No External Storage: Your saved sites, spaces, and settings are stored locally on your device using the browser's secure storage API.
- Tab Data & Web History: Space reads open tab titles and addresses exclusively to enable local tab searching, filtering, and switching. This data never leaves your device.
- Website Content: Space accesses active webpage content solely to read media playback states and titles for the integrated media control feature. This processing happens strictly in real-time on your local machine.
3. Third-Party Services & Analytics
- We do not use any third-party analytics trackers, advertising networks, or user behavior monitoring tools.
- We do not run any developer-operated cloud synchronization servers.
- When you perform a web search via the Quick Search panel, your query is sent directly to your selected search provider (Google, Yandex, Bing, or DuckDuckGo) only after your explicit confirmation.
4. Data Security and Export
All configuration data and saved lists remain inside your local browser profile. You can fully export your data at any time into a JSON file for backup purposes, or delete the extension to erase all associated data instantly.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated version available in the Chrome Web Store.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer via the official support channels in the Chrome Web Store.
