This Privacy Policy explains how Ribbon Rush ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

Ribbon Rush is a personal, offline-first recipe collection app for Android. The App allows you to browse built-in recipes, add your own custom recipes, leave personal notes and ratings, track your cooking streak, and discover a featured recipe each day. The App is designed with an offline-first approach: all personal data you enter is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates (not requested)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• The content of your recipes, notes, or cooking logs

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore, and is never sent to any external server:

• Your recipes: recipe names, categories, prep times, servings, ingredients, and steps you enter in My Kitchen.
• Recipe notes: personal "My Twist" notes you add to any recipe.
• Ratings: star ratings and difficulty feedback you assign to recipes.
• Favorites: which recipes you have starred.
• Cooking log: dates on which you marked recipes as cooked (used for streak and weekly stats calculations). No recipe content is duplicated in the log — only recipe IDs and dates.
• Preferences: theme (Light/Dark/System), text size, optional display name (entered during onboarding, skippable), stored via Android DataStore.

All locally stored data remains under your full control. You may delete individual recipes by swiping them left in My Kitchen, clear cooking history from Settings, or uninstall the App to remove all data.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not communicate with any third-party services. All functionality works entirely offline. This section does not apply.

5. Permissions

The App requests the following permission(s):

• No runtime permissions are requested.

The App does NOT request:

• Internet access (INTERNET)
• Location (GPS, coarse, background)
• Camera
• Contacts
• Phone state or identifiers
• Storage (READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

The App functions completely without any network or device permissions.

6. No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

Ribbon Rush does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), or third-party tracking libraries. There are no ads of any kind within the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no personal information from any user, it is safe for use by all ages.

8. Data Security

Because all user-generated data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data depends on the security measures provided by the Android operating system and your device (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not control how Android handles on-device storage security, but we do not expose any data to external parties.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of this document bundled with a new App release. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
