Privacy Policy for PocketPet

The app works fully offline and anonymously by default — you can play without signing in.

If you sign in (optional), some of your game data is stored in our cloud so it can sync across your devices.

We use Google Firebase for anonymous analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.

We do not show ads, and we do not use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone.

The app is intended for users aged 13 and older.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

By default, PocketPet stores all of your game data locally on your device using Android's Room database, including:

• Your pet(s): name, type, gender, stats (hunger, happiness, energy, hygiene, vitality), lives, age, and progress.
• Your inventory items and achievements.
• Inbox messages, news, and gifts you have received.
• App preferences (selected language, tutorial state).

This local data is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app. It is not transmitted anywhere unless you choose to sign in.

2. Account & Authentication (Optional)

Signing in is optional and only needed if you want cloud backup and cross-device sync.

When you sign in, we use Google Sign-In together with our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) to create your account. In this process we receive and store:

• Your email address and Google account identifier.
• Your display name and profile picture URL (as provided by your Google account).
• A unique internal user ID generated for your account.

We use this information only to identify your account, secure your data, and sync your game progress. We do not email you marketing messages.

3. Cloud Storage & Sync (When Signed In)

If you are signed in, the following game data is stored in our cloud backend (Supabase) so it can be backed up and synced across your devices:

• Your pet(s) and their current stats and state.
• Your inventory items.
• Inbox messages, gifts, and which messages you have already read.
• Your language preference and a "last seen" timestamp.

This data is associated with your account. If you are not signed in, none of this leaves your device. You can stop cloud sync at any time by signing out.

4. Automatic Data Collection (Analytics & Diagnostics)

We use Google Firebase to understand how the app performs and to fix problems:

• Firebase Analytics — anonymous app-usage events and aggregated device information (model, OS version, language).
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reports to help us diagnose stability issues.
• Firebase Performance Monitoring — anonymous performance metrics.
• Firebase Remote Config — to safely roll out configuration changes.

This data is anonymous and is not used to identify you personally. You can disable analytics collection at any time in the app's Settings.

The app declares the Advertising ID permission only because Firebase Analytics requires it on Android 13+. We do not use the Advertising ID for advertising, tracking, or personalization, and the app contains no ads.

5. Permissions

PocketPet requests only the permissions needed for gameplay features:

6. Third-Party Services

PocketPet integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance, Remote Config) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google Sign-In — policies.google.com/privacy
• Supabase (authentication and cloud database) — supabase.com/privacy

We do not integrate any advertising networks.

7. International Data Transfer

Our service providers (Google Firebase and Supabase) may process and store data on servers located outside your country of residence. By using cloud features, you consent to this transfer, which is carried out in line with those providers' data-protection commitments.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

• Local data: deleted automatically when you uninstall the app.
• Cloud account data: retained while your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data by contacting us at the email below; we will delete it within a reasonable period.
• Firebase analytics data: retained for up to 14 months in accordance with Google's standard retention policy.

9. Children's Privacy

PocketPet is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Analytics collection is anonymous and contains no personal identifiers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
