Thank you for using Playlist Genius ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application (the "App").

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We designed our App with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. This includes, but is not limited to:

Your name, email address, or other contact information.
Your Apple Music account details or library content.
Your device's unique identifiers.
Your location data.

The App operates without requiring you to create a personal account with us.

2. Information We Process (Data Sent to Third-Party AI)

To provide the core functionality of generating playlists, the App needs to process the text prompts you provide.

What We Send: When you enter a text description for a playlist (the "Prompt"), this text is sent directly to Google's Gemini AI API to generate a list of songs.
How It's Used: The Prompt is used solely for the purpose of generating a playlist in response to your specific request. The text is not associated with you or your device in our systems.
Third-Party Service: The processing of the Prompt is handled by Google's AI services. We do not have control over the data once it is sent to their API. To be clear: we do not store your Prompts on our servers. Each request is a stateless, one-time transaction between the App and the Google Gemini AI API.

3. Apple Music Integration

Our App uses Apple's official MusicKit framework to interact with your Apple Music account on your device.

On-Device Processing: All interactions with your Apple Music library, such as creating and modifying playlists, happen directly on your device through MusicKit. We do not have access to, nor do we see or store, any information from your Apple Music account.
Permissions: The App will ask for your permission to access Apple Music. This permission is required to save the generated playlists to your library. You can manage this permission at any time in your device's Settings.

4. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Our App is intended for a general audience, and if you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our App Store page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
