Privacy Policy for Nodeboard

Privacy Policy for Nodeboard

Nodeboard Team by Valentin Tikhonov

1. This Privacy Policy explains how Nodeboard (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Nodeboard app on iOS and iPadOS; by installing or using the app, you acknowledge that most processing happens directly on your device and that the app is designed to minimize collection of personal data while still providing productivity features such as notes, tasks, reminders, timers, analytics views, and optional finance tracking.

2. The content you create in the app—including notes, tasks, reminders, timers, finance entries, categories, goals, and your interface preferences—is stored locally on your device and not transmitted to our servers; if you delete the app or erase the device, the locally stored data may be removed, and it is your responsibility to maintain backups using platform features such as iOS backups if you want to preserve your information across reinstalls.

3. If you make a purchase, the transaction is processed solely by Apple’s in‑app purchase system; we do not receive or store your full payment card details, and we only obtain non‑financial information necessary to provide entitlements, such as the product identifier, purchase status, and renewal state, which we use to determine whether features such as Pro or ad‑free mode should be enabled for your account on the current device.

4. If you enable notifications, the app schedules local and push notifications using Apple frameworks; the text and timing are created on‑device based on your actions, we do not read the content of your notifications, and you can revoke or modify notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings, which may affect reminders and time‑sensitive alerts.

5. To improve stability and performance, the app may use privacy‑respecting diagnostics and analytics, including crash logs, error codes, aggregated usage counts, device model and OS version, and app version; this information helps us investigate bugs, measure performance, and prioritize improvements, and you can manage Apple analytics sharing in iOS Settings if you prefer to restrict diagnostic data.

6. If you use the app without a Pro subscription, you may see advertising; ad providers may use device‑level identifiers permitted by iOS to deliver and measure ads, comply with Apple’s tracking rules, and enforce frequency caps, while a Pro subscription removes ads within the app experience—your system‑level privacy choices (for example, tracking and personalized ads settings) also apply to advertising behavior.

7. We use information for limited purposes: to provide and enhance app functionality, verify subscription entitlements, deliver notifications you request, secure the app and prevent abuse, troubleshoot and fix defects, comply with legal requirements, and communicate important updates; we do not build marketing profiles based on your in‑app content and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

8. We may share limited information with Apple for purchases, entitlements, and notifications; we may also use service providers for analytics, diagnostics, and advertising who process data under contractual confidentiality and data‑protection obligations, and we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and property of users and the public.

9. We retain on‑device content until you delete it or uninstall the app, retain purchase and entitlement records for as long as needed to provide access and meet tax and accounting requirements, and retain analytics or crash logs only for the period necessary to diagnose and improve the app; when retention is no longer required, data is deleted or irreversibly aggregated where feasible.

10. Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information; you can edit or remove most content directly inside the app, control notifications and analytics in iOS Settings, manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID settings, and submit privacy requests or questions to our contact address provided below, and we will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

11. The app is not directed to children under the age required by local law (such as 13 or 16), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so that we can promptly delete the data and take any other steps required by applicable regulations.

12. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you should keep your device, passcode, and backups safe and up to date, be cautious when exporting or sharing content, and review any third‑party links you open from the app, since those services are governed by their own privacy policies that you should read independently.

13. If service providers or Apple process information in other countries, your information may be transferred internationally and protected in accordance with applicable law through safeguards such as contractual clauses; if you reside in the EEA or UK, our legal bases may include contract necessity, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

14. For California residents, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA; you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information that we control by contacting us, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights provided by law.

15. We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or best practices; when we make material updates, we will change the “Effective date” shown at the top of this document, and your continued use of the app after the effective date signifies acceptance of the updated policy—please review this page periodically to stay informed about our practices.

16. If you have questions, requests, or complaints regarding this Privacy Policy or your information, please contact us at [nodeboard@gmail.com] and, if you prefer postal correspondence, we will use reasonable efforts to respond promptly and address your inquiry in accordance with applicable data‑protection laws.
