This Privacy Policy explains how LucidVeil ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

LucidVeil is a personal dream journal and lucid-dreaming companion. The App allows you to record dreams (a title, the full story, a date, a lucidity rating, a mood, a sleep-quality rating, and tags), look up dream-symbol meanings in a built-in field guide, mark dreams and symbols as favorites, and view insights about your sleep and mood over time. The App is designed with an offline-first approach: all personal data you enter is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates (the App requests no location permission)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• The content of your dream entries, notes, ratings, or favorites

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device using Android's DataStore, and is never sent to any external server:

• Dreams: the title, story text, date, lucidity rating, mood, sleep-quality rating, tags, and favorite status of each dream you record.
• Symbol favorites: which dream symbols you have marked as favorites in the guide.
• Preferences: your chosen theme (System/Light/Dark), accent colour, and the star-dust motion setting.

All locally stored data remains under your full control. You may delete an individual dream at any time from its detail screen, or clear every dream, favorite, and preference at once using "Clear all dreams" in Settings. Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data.

4. Third-Party Services — None

LucidVeil does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services. The App makes no network requests and requires no internet connection to function. The dream-symbol field guide is bundled with the App and works entirely offline.

5. Permissions

LucidVeil requests no special or sensitive Android permissions. It does not access the internet, your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data ever leaves your device, no personal information is transmitted for users of any age.

7. Data Security

Because all your data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted, the security of your information depends on the security of your device. We recommend using a device lock screen to protect your journal.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
