Privacy Policy for Last Used Tab Groups

Last updated: January 20, 2026

The "Last Used Tab Groups" extension is designed with a strong focus on privacy. We believe that your browsing organization and productivity data belong to you.

1. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, or transmit any user data to external servers. All your tab group information, titles, and URLs are processed and stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure local storage (chrome.storage.local). No information ever leaves your computer.

2. Permissions Justification

To function correctly and provide its core features, the extension requires the following permissions:

  • tabGroups: Used to detect, create, and organize your groups. This allows the extension to save your group structures to the library.
  • tabs: Used to identify the URLs and titles within a group so they can be restored later, and to handle the "Auto-Merge" feature for duplicate tabs.
  • storage: Used to save your group library locally on your computer so it persists even after you close Chrome.
  • sidePanel: Used to provide a persistent, easy-to-access interface for your library without interrupting your browsing.
  • scripting: Used strictly to display non-intrusive "toast" notifications within the web page to inform you when a tab merge has occurred.

3. Third-Party Sharing

This extension does not use any third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics), tracking scripts, or advertising networks. No data is shared with any third party, including the developer.

4. Data Retention

Since we do not collect data on any external infrastructure, we do not retain any data. If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data (your library) is automatically deleted by the Chrome browser.
