This Privacy Policy explains how FocusFern ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

FocusFern is a Pomodoro focus-timer and productivity app. The App allows you to run focus sessions with a countdown timer, create tasks and tag your focus sessions to them, track your daily focus minutes, streaks and history, and view simple charts of your focus over time. The App is designed with an offline-first approach: all personal data you enter is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates (the App does not request location access)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• The content of your tasks, focus sessions, notes, or settings

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device only, using Android's on-device storage (DataStore):

• Tasks you create (name, optional notes, color, daily target)
• Completed focus sessions (duration, associated task, completion time)
• Your timer preferences (focus, break and long-break lengths, rounds, daily goal)
• App preferences (theme mode; chime, vibration and keep-screen-on toggles)

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of it. You can also clear your focus history at any time from the Settings screen.

4. Network and Third-Party Services

FocusFern does not connect to the internet, does not use any backend server, and does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. The only optional outbound action is opening this Privacy Policy in your browser when you tap the corresponding link in Settings.

5. Permissions

The App requests a single permission:

• Vibrate — used solely to provide an optional haptic buzz when a focus or break session ends. This can be turned off in Settings and involves no data collection.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
