This Privacy Policy explains how Crustly ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

Crustly is an offline sourdough and slow-bread baking companion. The App lets you keep a sourdough starter feeding log, follow step-by-step bake recipes with stage timelines, calculate baker's ratios and dough hydration, and keep a personal bake logbook with crumb ratings and notes. The App is designed with an offline-first approach: all personal data you enter is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates (the App requests no location permission)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• The content of your bake notes, starter name, or logbook entries

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device using Android's DataStore, and is never sent to any external server:

• Starter state: your starter's name, its last feeding time, and your feeding-day history used to show the feeding streak.
• Bake log: the loaves you record, including crumb rating, crumb openness, hydration, date, and any personal notes.
• Active bake: the recipe and stage progress of a bake you are currently working through.
• Preferences: theme choice (system, light, dark), haptic-feedback toggle, typical starter peak window, and your list of favorite recipes.

All locally stored data remains under your full control. You may delete individual bakes by swiping them away, and uninstalling the App removes all stored data permanently.

4. Third-Party Services — None

Crustly does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services. The App makes no network requests and requires no internet connection to function. All recipes are bundled with the App.

5. Permissions

Crustly requests no runtime permissions. It does not access the internet, location, camera, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive device capability.

6. Children's Privacy

Crustly does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data leaves your device, the App is safe for users of all ages.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
