This Privacy Policy explains how Bloom Grove ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this document carefully.

1. Overview

Bloom Grove is a curated wisdom library app that presents quotes and proverbs from seven world wisdom traditions. The App allows you to browse a daily wisdom feed, save favorite quotes, write personal reflections, react to quotes with emoji, track your reading streak, and view insights about your reading patterns. The App is designed with an offline-first approach: all personal data you enter is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Account credentials or authentication tokens
• Device location or GPS coordinates
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
• Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
• The content of your personal reflections or notes

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore, and is never sent to any external server:

• Favorite quotes: IDs of quotes you have bookmarked, with timestamps.
• Personal reflections: Text notes you write for specific quotes. Stored by quote ID. Never shared.
• Emoji reactions: Which emoji you reacted to each quote with (💡 🙏 💪 ✨ 🔥), stored by quote ID.
• Reading history: IDs of recently viewed quotes and when you viewed them (auto-captured).
• Daily check-ins: Which dates you engaged with the app, used for streak calculation.
• Preferences: Chosen wisdom traditions, daily reading goal, theme (Light/Dark/System), font size — stored via Android DataStore.

All locally stored data remains under your full control. You may clear your reading history via Settings → Clear History, or uninstall the App to remove all stored data.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may optionally fetch additional quotes from the Quotable API (quotable.io), a free public quotes service. When this occurs, a standard HTTPS request is made to their servers. This request contains:

• A category or random quote query
• No personal data, device identifiers, or user information

Quotable's own privacy policy governs how they handle API requests. We recommend reviewing it at quotable.io. The App does not share any user-generated content or device information with Quotable.

If no internet connection is available, the App operates in fully offline mode using the built-in library of 500 quotes.

5. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

• `android.permission.INTERNET` — solely to optionally fetch fresh quotes from the Quotable API when connected. The App works fully without internet.
• `android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` — to detect whether an internet connection is available before attempting to fetch quotes.

The App does NOT request:

• Location (GPS, coarse, background)
• Contacts
• Camera
• Microphone
• Phone state or identifiers
• SMS or call log access
• Read/write external storage

6. No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

Bloom Grove does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), or third-party tracking libraries. There are no ads of any kind within the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no personal information from any user, it is safe for use by all ages.

8. Data Security

Because all user-generated data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data depends on the security measures provided by the Android operating system and your device (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not control how Android handles on-device storage security, but we do not expose any data to external parties.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of this document. The date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
