Summary

Aoidos is a local-first, free document listening app. Document text and generated speech are processed on your device. Aoidos does not require an account and does not operate an Aoidos cloud sync service.

Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the app, Aoidos may store locally:

Imported document files and extracted plain text (app-private storage)
Library metadata (title, resume position, character counts)
Playback preferences (voice, speed)
The on-device Kokoro speech model files after download (~320 MB)
Cached audio segments for progressive / background preparation
Optional UI preferences (for example, whether a Temprio promo card was dismissed)

This data stays in Android app storage on your device unless you export audio (WAV) or share a file yourself, or unless your OS/OEM backup tools include app data.

Network use

Aoidos may use the network to:

Download the voice model (once) if it is not already installed
Open links you choose (for example, Temprio on Google Play)

Document contents are not uploaded to fntAInhead servers for speech synthesis.

Permissions

Internet — Download the voice model; open optional links
Notifications — Playback and background-preparation status
Camera — Optional document / page capture for on-device OCR
Foreground services — Media playback and background audio preparation

You can deny camera or notification access; import of existing files still works.

Third-party components

Aoidos uses on-device libraries such as Kokoro / sherpa-onnx, ML Kit (OCR), and PdfBox-Android. Those components run in the app process on your device.

Purchases and advertising

Aoidos is free. There is no Aoidos subscription in this product.
The app may mention Temprio (com.temprio.app), a separate fntAInhead product.
Aoidos does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

What we do not do (this version)

We do not require an Aoidos account
We do not sell your documents
We do not provide multi-device document sync servers
We do not support DRM-protected or commercial ebook store formats

Intended use & intellectual property

Aoidos is designed for your own personal documents and other material you have the legal right to use — for example files you created, public-domain works, or documents shared with you for personal listening. It is not intended for commercial ebooks, DRM-protected store purchases, or any other content you do not have permission to copy or listen to.

Aoidos does not bypass, remove, or circumvent DRM or other technical protection measures, and it does not facilitate doing so. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights for each file you import and for complying with copyright and other applicable laws in your region.

fntAInhead does not encourage or condone copyright infringement, plagiarism, or unlawful distribution of protected works. If you are unsure whether you have the right to use a file, do not import it. The app is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. This section is informational and does not constitute legal advice.

Children

Aoidos is a general productivity / reading tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and deletion

Because library and model data are local, uninstalling Aoidos (or clearing app storage) removes app data on that device. Files you exported or shared yourself remain under your control.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product changes. The “Last updated” date will change.
