Privacy Policy for Amnezia VPN
Privacy Policy for Amnezia VPNEffective Date: June 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes the operational framework and data practices applied within the Amnezia VPN browser extension ("we", "our", or "us"). Our development architecture strictly prioritizes complete user anonymity, localized storage, and zero data logging.
1. Single Purpose Protocol
In alignment with the Chrome Web Store Single Purpose Policy, this application serves one dedicated technical objective: to configure browser proxy parameters to modify the user's virtual location and facilitate access to open network resources. All core scripts and integrated browser permissions are exclusively focused on supporting this single function and initial user configuration.
2. Zero-Logs Architecture and Privacy Exclusion
To enforce complete anonymity, we implement a strict zero-knowledge architecture:
- No Registrations: Amnezia VPN operates without requiring user sign-ups, accounts, passwords, or personal detail submission (such as phone numbers or email addresses).
- No Activity Logs: We do not monitor, record, collect, or store your internet activity, browsing history, destination URLs, search queries, or transmitted content.
- Transient Real-Time Routing: Data processing through our proxy network happens strictly inside volatile memory in real-time. Network packets pass through our routing nodes transiently and are never saved to permanent storage disks, log files, or databases.
3. Required Browser Permissions
The extension requests only the minimum technical permissions required for its standard features:
- proxy: Utilized strictly to apply and maintain custom proxy configurations within the browser instance based on manual user selection.
- storage: Utilized solely on the client side to store internal interface states, such as the active server identifier and the connection status. This data is never synchronized externally and remains on your local device.
- tabs: Utilized exclusively during the immediate post-installation event to programmatically open the introductory onboarding page. This helps guide new users through the UI and is never used to track active browsing behavior or log tab activity.
4. Third-Party Sharing Restrictions
We do not sell, rent, trade, lease, or expose any operational information to advertising agencies, data brokers, or telemetry tracking systems. Because our framework avoids collecting or saving web activity records, no data records exist to be transferred or accessed.
5. Document Amendments
This policy may undergo minor adjustments over time to maintain alignment with changing web store regulatory guidelines. The "Effective Date" at the top indicates when the latest technical update was finalized.
