Privacy Policy
Sendr — August 11, 2026This Privacy Policy describes how the Sendr app for iPhone ("the App", "we") handles your information. The short version: your contacts and messages stay on your device. We collect only anonymous usage and crash diagnostics that help us fix bugs and improve the App.
Information We Collect
The App:
- does not require registration or an account;
- does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal details;
- does not access your location, photos, health data, camera, or microphone;
- does not contain advertising SDKs and does not sell or share your data for advertising;
- never sends your contacts, message texts, templates, or recipient lists anywhere.
The App does collect anonymous usage and crash diagnostics, as described in "Analytics and Crash Reporting" below.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to diagnose crashes.
What is collected:
- anonymous app events, such as opening a screen, creating a group, starting a send, completing onboarding, or opening the paywall;
- aggregate counts, such as the number of recipients in a batch or the number of templates used;
- technical information, such as device model, iOS version, App version, language, coarse region, and a random installation identifier generated by Firebase;
- crash reports, including stack traces, the device state at the moment of the crash, and the sequence of recent events leading to it.
What is never collected:
- names, phone numbers, or email addresses of your contacts;
- the text of your messages, templates, or drafts;
- personalization values you enter for placeholders;
- your name, email address, or any account identifier.
Event parameters are limited to non-identifying values by design. Firebase data is processed by Google LLC as our service provider and is governed by Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and the Firebase data processing terms. We do not use Firebase Advertising ID collection, audience export for ads, or cross-app tracking, and the App does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
You can opt out of analytics and crash reporting in the App's Settings. When you opt out, Firebase collection is disabled on your device.
Contacts
The App asks for access to your contacts so you can pick recipients and personalize messages with placeholders such as {first_name} or {nickname}. Contact access is optional and can be granted in full, limited to selected contacts, or denied in iOS Settings at any time.
Contact data you import (names, phone numbers, email addresses, and the personalization values you enter yourself) is stored locally on your device in the App's own database. It is never uploaded to us and never shared with any third party. iOS may back up this database as part of your regular iPhone or iCloud backup, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Messages and Drafts
Message texts, templates, drafts, groups, and delivery history are stored locally on your device.
The App does not send messages by itself and has no messaging server. Delivery happens through apps and services you already use:
- SMS and iMessage — through the system message composer or the Shortcuts automation you install yourself; delivery is handled by Apple and your mobile carrier;
- Email — through the system mail composer and your configured mail account;
- WhatsApp — by opening WhatsApp with a prefilled message.
Once a message leaves the App, it is subject to the privacy policy of the carrier or service that delivers it.
Shortcuts Integration
If you enable assisted sending, the App exchanges message queues and delivery results with the Shortcuts app through a private App Group container (group.com.buildfor.sendr.group) stored on your device. This data stays on the device and is not transmitted anywhere by the App.
AI Personalization
AI message writing and rewriting use Apple Intelligence and run entirely on your device through Apple's Foundation Models framework. Your message text is not sent to us, to OpenAI, or to any other external AI provider. AI features are available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence; on other devices they are simply unavailable.
Notifications
The App may ask permission to send local notifications, for example when a sending batch finishes. These notifications are generated on your device. There is no push server and no remote notifications.
In-App Purchases
The App offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions (PRO features) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment information, billing details, or Apple ID. Purchases are governed by Apple's own privacy policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Cookies
We do not use cookies.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC), as described above. Other external interactions are with Apple's App Store for in-app purchases, and with the messaging apps and services you choose to send through. There are no advertising, attribution, or backend services beyond these.
Data Retention
Firebase Analytics event data is retained for a limited period configured in our Firebase project and is then deleted or aggregated. Crashlytics reports are retained while they remain useful for diagnosing an issue. Data stored on your device is retained until you delete it or delete the App.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The diagnostics we do collect are anonymous and are not used to build a profile of any individual.
Security
Your contacts, messages, and settings never leave your device and are protected by your device's built-in security and encryption. Diagnostic data is transmitted to Firebase over encrypted connections. Deleting the App permanently deletes the data it stored on your device.
Your Rights
We never receive your contacts or messages, so there is nothing of that kind for us to export or delete. You control that data directly in the App and in iOS Settings: revoke contact access, delete individual contacts, groups, templates, or history, or delete the App entirely.
For analytics and crash diagnostics you can opt out at any time in the App's Settings. If you want the diagnostic data already associated with your installation deleted, contact us at the address below and include the installation identifier shown in the App's Settings.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
