This Privacy Policy explains how the FAA Drone Rules mobile application ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information. Please read it together with our Terms of Use and Disclaimer.

Short version: The App works offline and does not require an account or your name or contact details to use it. It does collect limited usage data — including a choice you make during onboarding — to help us understand how the App is used and improve it. That usage data is described in Section 2.

1. Who we are

2. Usage data we collect

To understand how the App is used and to improve it, we collect limited usage data through our own analytics system, which we operate on our own servers. This usage data may include:

• the pilot type you select during onboarding (for example, recreational or Part 107);
• which screens you view and which features you use within the App;
• basic technical information associated with your device needed to record the above.

This usage data is linked to a device identifier. It is not, however, tied to your name, email address, or contact details, because we do not ask for those to use the App. We use this data only to analyze how the App is used and to improve it. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with third-party advertising or analytics networks — the analytics is operated by us alone.

3. Information we do not collect

The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal contact details to use its core features. We do not use third-party advertising software, and we do not access your contacts, photos, or precise location for collection purposes.

4. Information stored only on your device

Some features save information locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us:

• Bookmarks and saved items — content you choose to save for quick access.
• App settings and preferences — such as theme, measurement units, and offline downloads.
• Downloaded content — regulatory reference material saved for offline use.

This information remains on your device and is removed when you delete the App or clear its data through your device settings.

5. Contacting support

If you choose to contact us through the "Contact Support" feature, you may send us your email address and the contents of your message.

• If this feature opens your own email application, your message is sent through your email provider, and we receive only what you choose to send.
• We use the information in your message solely to respond to your request. We do not use it for marketing and do not share it, except as required to operate the support process or comply with law.

Contacting support is entirely optional.

6. External links and third-party services

The App contains links to official government and third-party websites and tools, including (for example) the FAA website, FAADroneZone, B4UFLY, and TRUST test providers. When you tap such a link, you leave the App and the privacy practices of that third party apply. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website or service. Please review their policies.

The "Rate the App" feature uses Apple's standard rating mechanism. Any information handled during that process is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

7. Children's privacy

The App is an informational reference and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal contact information from children. The usage data described in Section 2 is limited to how the App is used and is not used to identify any individual. If you believe a child has provided us with information through the support feature, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices and rights

• You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings.
• You can remove all locally stored information at any time by deleting the App.
• Because our analytics does not identify you by name, we generally hold no personal profile about you; if you have contacted support, you may ask us to delete that correspondence.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to access or delete data associated with your device. To make a request, contact us at s.kyrylova@gmail.com

9. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the usage data we hold on our systems. Because we do not collect your name or contact details, the usage data is not associated with your personal identity, though it is linked to a device identifier as described in Section 2. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data retention

We retain usage data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and make the updated policy available in the App and/or at the App's listing. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
