App: MeRemix Effective date: 28 July 2026 Last updated: 28 July 2026

MeRemix ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a party quiz game where players upload photos of their friends, our service blends them with celebrity photos, and everyone guesses the celebrity. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

By using the App you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

  • Developer / data controller: One Enger
  • Contact: one.enger@icloud.com

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at the email above.

2. Data we collect

We keep data collection to what the game needs to work. We do not ask for your real name, email, phone number, or account password to play.

2.1 Data you provide

  • Nickname — a display name you choose (editable at any time). Shown to other players and on the results leaderboard.
  • Photos you upload — photos of people (typically your friends) that you add to a quiz room. Blended with celebrity photos to generate quiz rounds.
  • Names of the people in the photos — a short label you enter for each person you add. Organizes uploads within a room.
  • Quiz activity — the answers you select, your answer times, and your resulting score. Runs the game and builds the results leaderboard.
  • Quiz rating — an optional emoji rating you can give after a game. Helps us understand which content players enjoy.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • Anonymous user identifier — an automatically generated ID that identifies your device/installation. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
  • Invite / room codes — codes used to create and join quiz rooms.
  • Usage & diagnostic analytics — in-app events (e.g. screens opened, buttons tapped, quizzes started/completed), together with the standard device and app information collected by our analytics provider (such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and analytics identifiers).

We do not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, your device address book, or advertising profiles.

2.3 Photos — important note

The photos you upload usually contain images of other people. Faces are personal data. By uploading a photo you confirm that:

  • you have the right to upload it, and
  • you have obtained the consent of the people shown, where such consent is required by law.

Please only upload photos of people who are comfortable being included in the game. Do not upload photos of people who have not agreed, photos of minors without a parent/guardian's consent, or any unlawful, harmful, or explicit content.

3. How your photos are processed (AI generation)

When a quiz is generated, the photos you uploaded are sent to our backend and to our AI image-generation provider (Runware), which blends each uploaded photo with a celebrity photo to create the quiz-round images. This processing happens on our cloud infrastructure and Runware's (see "Third parties" below). We use the uploaded photos only to generate quiz content for your room.

4. How we use your data

We use the data above to:

  • create and run quiz rooms and generate quiz rounds;
  • display nicknames, scores, and the results leaderboard to players in your room;
  • keep the game synchronized between players in real time;
  • understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics);
  • diagnose crashes and technical problems;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the service and prevent abuse;
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the game you asked to play.
  • Consent — for uploading photos of people, and where required for analytics; you may withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights").
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the service, prevent abuse, and improve the App, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.

6. Who we share data with (third parties / sub-processors)

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf so the App can function:

  • Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — backend database, photo storage, and the quiz-generation service. Data involved: nicknames, uploaded photos, person names, quiz activity, room/user identifiers.
  • Yandex AppMetrica — product and usage analytics, crash diagnostics. Data involved: usage events and standard analytics/device data described in section 2.2.
  • Runware (AI image generation) — blending uploaded photos with celebrity photos to create quiz-round images. Data involved: uploaded photos.

These providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.

Please review the privacy policies of these providers for details of their own processing:

  • Google Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Yandex AppMetrica: https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/
  • Runware: https://runware.ai/privacy

7. Data retention

  • Quiz room data (uploaded photos, person names, in-room nicknames, answers, scores, and generated round images) is stored only temporarily. Each room automatically expires and is permanently deleted approximately 7 days after its last activity, including all photos and generated images associated with it.
  • Your nickname profile (the global display name tied to your anonymous user ID) is retained until you request deletion.
  • Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's retention settings and our own configuration.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures provided by our cloud infrastructure, including encryption of data in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, or that a photo of a child was uploaded without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time;
  • data portability;
  • lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Because most room data auto-deletes within ~7 days, the fastest way to remove uploaded photos is to let the room expire or to delete the specific person/photo within the App. To exercise any right — including deletion of your nickname profile — contact us at one.enger@icloud.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California residents: we do not sell or "share" (as defined by the CPRA) your personal information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
