Privacy Policy

Snorio listens to you sleep. This page explains exactly what happens to that recording, what else the app measures, and who else is involved.

Information I collect

Snorio does not require an account, and there is no sign-in. Your sleep recordings, Snore Scores, timelines, and any tags or corrections you make are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to me or to anyone else.

The app collects anonymous usage statistics, described under Analytics below. It does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, health records, or location.

Audio and the microphone

While a sleep session is running, Snorio uses your device's microphone to listen for snoring. All audio is processed on your device by Apple's on-device sound classifier. No audio is transmitted off your device at any time — there is no server for me to send it to.

Full-night audio is never saved. Only short audio snippets of detected snoring episodes are kept, in the app's private storage on your device. These prune themselves automatically to stay under a storage limit you control, and you can delete every stored snippet at once from Settings → Storage. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.

If you use Snorio to record another person, such as a partner sharing your room, it is your responsibility to make sure they know they are being recorded. It is their voice too.

Analytics

To understand where the app fails its users, Snorio sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck. These events record which setup screen you reached, whether a recording session finished or was interrupted, and approximate values such as how long a session ran — always as broad ranges rather than exact figures. They also include your device model, operating system version, and app version, so I can tell which phones the app breaks on.

These events contain no audio, no sleep data, no account, and no advertising identifier. TelemetryDeck assigns a non-identifying installation identifier so that repeat events can be counted; it is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

I do not sell this data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising. Snorio shows no ads.

Subscriptions and payments

Snorio is free to use, with an optional Premium subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. I never see or handle your payment details.

To know whether Premium should be unlocked on your device, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and your subscription status. It does not receive your name or email address.

I use the following providers, and no others:

Manages subscription status. Receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase status.

Apple · App Store

Processes all purchases and subscriptions under Apple's own privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Because your recordings and sleep data live only on your device, you control their lifetime entirely. Snippets prune themselves as you use the app, you can clear them all from Settings → Storage, and deleting the app removes everything permanently. There is nothing stored on a server for me to delete.

Anonymous analytics events cannot be traced back to you and therefore cannot be individually retrieved or deleted. If you would prefer they not be collected at all, you can disable the app's network access in iOS Settings; Snorio will continue to work, since nothing about recording or scoring depends on a network connection.

Security

Because sleep data never leaves your device, it is protected by iOS itself: the app's storage is private to Snorio and covered by your device's encryption and passcode. The small amount of data that does leave — analytics events and subscription status — is sent over encrypted connections.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. You are advised to review this page periodically.
