Introduction
TradeSeasons ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application TradeSeasons (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.
TradeSeasons provides historical seasonal analysis of publicly traded stocks — seasonal trends, monthly and intraday patterns, and backtested statistics. It is an informational and educational tool. It does not connect to your brokerage, place trades, or access your trading accounts.
Information We Collect
1. Market Data Requests
What we collect:
- The stock ticker symbols you look up
- The date ranges and hold periods you select for analysis
- Search text you enter when searching for a symbol
How we collect it:
- When you open a stock's seasonal, intramonth, or intraday analysis
- When you use the Discover screener or search for a symbol
How we use it:
- To request the corresponding historical market data and return the analysis to you
- These requests are sent to our backend service, which retrieves end-of-day and intraday price history from our market data provider (EODHD)
Note: These requests contain only the ticker, dates, and search terms needed to produce the analysis. They are not linked to your identity. Our server may temporarily log technical request information (such as IP address) for security, caching, and operational purposes.
2. Favorites and App Settings
What we collect (stored locally on your device):
- Your saved favorite tickers / watchlist
- Your filter and display preferences (e.g. selected market, lookback, hold length, timezone)
- Onboarding progress flags
Storage:
- All of this is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Cached analysis results are also stored locally so the App works quickly and offline; this cache expires automatically and can be cleared by pull-to-refresh or by uninstalling the App.
3. Subscription and Payment Information
What we collect:
- Subscription status (active/inactive)
- Subscription plan type (weekly, annual)
- Purchase and renewal confirmations from the App Store
How we use it:
- To verify your subscription status and unlock premium features
- To process subscription renewals, restores, and cancellations
Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat assigns a random, anonymous app user identifier and receives your purchase and subscription-status information in order to validate entitlements. Your subscription status is also cached securely in the device Keychain so the App can show the correct screen instantly on launch.
Note: We do not collect or store payment card information. All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store.
4. Usage and Analytics Data
What we collect:
- App and feature usage events (for example: onboarding steps viewed, paywall views, plan selections, purchases, restores)
- A "subscribed" property indicating whether the current user has an active subscription
How we collect it:
- Through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Remote Config, which we use to understand how the App is used, to improve the onboarding and subscription experience, and to configure certain features remotely.
Note: Firebase may automatically collect certain device and usage information (such as an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system version, and IP address) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We use this data in aggregate to improve the App and do not use it to identify you personally.
5. Device Information
What we collect:
- Device type (iPhone/iPad)
- Operating system version
- App version
- Device language and region settings
How we use it:
- To ensure app compatibility
- To provide appropriate app features for your device
- To debug and resolve technical issues
How We Use Your Information
1. Provide Core Services:
- Retrieve historical market data and display seasonal, monthly, and intraday analysis
- Provide the Discover screener and symbol search
- Manage user subscriptions and premium access
2. Improve User Experience:
- Understand feature usage to optimize performance and the onboarding/subscription flow
- Fix bugs and technical issues
3. Manage Subscriptions:
- Verify subscription status
- Enable premium features
- Process purchases, renewals, and restores
Third-Party Services
We share limited information with the following service providers so the App can function. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Apple App Store — payment processing and subscription management
- RevenueCat — subscription validation and entitlement management
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config) — usage analytics and remote feature configuration
- EODHD — historical market data provider queried by our backend
Data Retention
- Favorites, settings, and cached analysis: stored locally on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App
- Subscription data: retained as long as required to deliver the service and for legal/accounting compliance
- Analytics data: retained by Google Firebase according to its data-retention settings and policies
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption: All data transmitted between the App and third-party services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS, TLS)
- Local Storage: Data stored on your device uses iOS security features, and subscription status is stored in the device Keychain
- API Security: Secure API communication with all third-party services
Data We Do NOT Collect
For transparency, here's what we explicitly DO NOT collect:
Personal Financial Data:
- Brokerage credentials
- Your actual trading account information
- Real portfolio holdings or transactions
Personal Content:
- Contacts
- Location data (GPS)
- Biometric data
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
Account Data:
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number in the App
Your Choices
Analysis and Favorites
- You choose which tickers to look up and save
- You can remove favorites at any time
Subscription
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID / App Store settings
Analytics
- You can limit ad tracking and analytics identifiers through your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy & Security)
Data Deletion
- Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data (favorites, settings, and cached analysis)
- To request deletion of data processed by third parties, contact us or the respective service directly
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users 17 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
