A brief overview of our commitment to privacy

We believe that the less information we know about you, the better. After all, it is impossible to lose, misuse, or abuse information we do not have.

Personal Data

We do not collect and do not have access to the personal data that you save in Authenticator. Everything you do is saved into your iCloud account in encrypted form and is synced across your devices using the same iCloud account. When you use our software we may record some usage analytics, subscription validation and crash logs. The sole purpose of this data is to help us make better decisions on where to focus our efforts and improve our software. You provide some data directly, such as when you contact us for support. Such data is limited to your email address only.

We do not share your photographs or face data with any other third parties except as necessary to facilitate the photo editing process. We may disclose information to comply with legal requirements or to protect the rights and safety of others.

Subscription validation

The receipt validation is used to manage and update subscription status. To manage your subscription status we use:

 • Receipt validation.

 • In-App purchases.

 • Fetching subscription products.

 • Subscription status.

Usage analytics

The app usage analytics collected is minimal but essential to help us run our business. Currently, we collect:

 • An application starts/ends.

 • Device locale.

 • Device type, CPU architecture, and version of the operating system.

We use Amplitude to collect and manage this data.

Crash logs

Crash logs are, by default, automatically sent on the next app start. These logs contain anonymised data about the crash that can help us identify the cause and potentially provide a fix in a future update. These logs do not contain any data or metadata about the content you create with our software. Here is what all is collected:

 • Anonymised bundle identifier, and short bundle version string of your app.

 • Device type, CPU architecture, and version of the operating system.

 • Timestamp when the crash happened.

 • A generated UUID to prevent duplicate crash reports.

 • If an exception was thrown, the plain-text class name and message value of the exception.

 • Low-level crash data like instruction pointer, method or function names, signal data, pointer registers, and information about the loaded binary images.

 • The application log file.

We use Crashlytics to collect and manage this data.

COPPA

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") is a United States federal law enacted to give parents increased control over what information is collected from their children online and how such information is used. The law applies to websites and services directed to, and which knowingly collect information from, children under the age of 13. Our products and services are not directed to children under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not provide personal information of any kind whatsoever to 2FA Authenticator app. If a child provides us with personal information, a parent or legal guardian of that child may contact us to obtain that information and/or delete it from our records by sending an email to j.p.durand911@gmail.com

Transfer of Data

In principle, your data will only be passed on without your explicit prior consent in the following cases:

• If necessary, to investigate illegal use of our services, or for prosecution, personal data will be passed on to the law-enforcement authorities and potentially to harmed third parties. However, this will only be the case if there are any specific indications of illegal or abusive behaviour. Data may also be passed on if this serves to enforce terms and conditions of use or other agreements. We are also legally required to provide information to certain public bodies on request. These are law-enforcement authorities, public authorities that pursue administrative offences subject to fines and tax authorities.

• Scope of Collection: We collect personal information when you grant us access to your camera or photo album, which includes data related to the facial features in the photos you choose to edit. We do not collect biometric data or any information that can identify you personally.

We employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect the information collected through our app. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of local device databases.

If you have any questions at all, about your data or any other query, kindly contact us at j.p.durand911@gmail.com
