Privacy Policy

OmyZero

This Privacy Policy explains how the Army Location Mock mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), developed by OmyZero, handles information. Army Location Mock is a utility that lets you set a simulated (mock) GPS location on your device: you choose a point on a map and the App reports that point as your device's location to other apps, using Android's built-in mock-location feature that you enable yourself in Developer options. Please read this policy carefully.

Our Approach in Short

We built Army Location Mock to run on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not operate a server that collects your personal information. We show no ads and use no third-party analytics or tracking. Your location data is processed on your device and is not sent to us.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on our servers. There are no user accounts, no login, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. The App processes the following data locally on your device:

  • Approximate and precise location — With your permission, the App reads your device's current location so it can show where you are on the map and center the map there. This is processed on your device and is not sent to us.
  • Simulated (mock) location — The coordinates you choose to simulate are held in memory only while the simulation service is running, so the App can report them to the operating system. They are not saved to a file by us and are not transmitted to us.
  • Security and diagnostic flags — The App stores a small amount of technical data on your device, in encrypted local storage, to support its built-in security checks — for example, the result of an app-integrity check and when it last ran. This contains no location data and no personal identifiers, and it never leaves your device.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, or any unique advertising identifier.

Permissions the App Requests

  • Location (precise and approximate) — Used to display your current position on the map and to center the map on you. You may deny this and still use the App by choosing a location on the map manually.
  • Allow mock locations — The core function of the App: it lets the App provide a simulated location to the system. You must also select Army Location Mock as the “mock location app” in your device's Developer options for this to work.
  • Foreground service and foreground location service — Keep the location simulation running reliably while in use, accompanied by a visible, ongoing notification so you always know it is active.
  • Notifications — Used to show the ongoing “running” notification and to let you stop the simulation. We do not send marketing or promotional notifications.

How Your Information Is Used

Because the App processes data on your device, your information is used only to:

  • show your location on the map;
  • apply the simulated location you select;
  • keep the simulation running and let you control or stop it; and
  • verify that the App and device are genuine and untampered (security and anti-abuse).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing, and we do not sell or rent any data.

Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. To function, the App relies on the following Google services; your use of them is also governed by Google's own terms:

  • Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK for Android) — Renders the interactive map. When the map loads, Google may receive data such as your device's IP address and information needed to serve map tiles, consistent with Google's policies.
  • Google Play services (Location) — Provides your device's location to the App on your device.
  • Google Play Integrity API — Sends a signed attestation token to Google to confirm the App and device are genuine and have not been tampered with. This is a security and anti-abuse measure.
  • Google Play — If you obtained the App from Google Play, Google may collect certain installation- and crash-related information as described in its policies.

You can review Google's practices here: Google Privacy Policy and Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect rights, safety, or to investigate fraud or abuse.

Data Storage, Retention, and Security

  • On-device only — Your real location and the coordinates you simulate are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.
  • Encryption at rest — The small amount of technical data the App saves locally is stored using AES-256 encryption backed by the Android Keystore.
  • Encryption in transit — The App is configured to use secure (HTTPS) connections only; cleartext network traffic is disabled.
  • No cloud backup — The App's data is excluded from automatic cloud backups.
  • Retention — On-device security flags persist only until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Real-location and mock-location data are not retained after the relevant operation ends.

Your Choices and Controls

  • You can grant or revoke the location permission at any time in your device Settings.
  • You enable or disable the mock-location feature yourself in Developer options.
  • You can stop the location simulation at any time from within the App or from its notification.
  • You can remove all locally stored App data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or for legal, technical, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy at this address. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
