1. What Data Does Carb AI Collect?

Carb AI does not collect or store any personal data on external servers.

When you scan a meal, the image is temporarily processed using OpenAI's API to extract food-related information. The image is never stored by Carb AI, and no user data is sent or saved on our servers.

2. Use of Meal Images and Analysis Data

The image you provide is used exclusively to identify food items and analyze nutritional data (e.g. Glycemic Load, Glycemic Index, macros).

Once the image is sent for processing, it is not stored or retained by Carb AI or by the OpenAI API.

Your analyzed data — such as meal history, nutritional breakdown, and scan results — is stored only locally on your device and is never uploaded or shared.

3. Third-Party Processing

Carb AI uses OpenAI's models to process your meal photos.

According to OpenAI’s API data usage policies, your images and any inputs are not used to train models, and are not stored beyond the short-term processing window.

We do not share or transmit your image data to any other third parties.

4. Retention of Data

• Image data: Temporarily processed, never stored
• Nutrition results: Stored only on your device
• No data is stored on our servers or shared externally

5. Security and Data Handling

We take privacy seriously.

All data remains under your control and on your device. Images are securely transmitted for real-time AI processing and are immediately discarded after use by the processing API. We do not retain, resell, or use your images for any other purpose.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect product changes or to meet legal and regulatory standards. You will be notified of any updates through the app.
